Children and UTIs - help!

Sorry - posting for traffic and advice.

Dd is 3 and we went to out of hours last weekend because she had a urine infection. They prescribed her a 7 day course of antibiotics. She finishes them today but the infection hasn’t gone. The gp said it’s the right antibiotics for the infection and it the infection should have been gone after three days of them.
He said if it’s not gone by tomorrow they will send her for ultrasound etc. I have health anxiety around her for various reasons and I’m out of my mind with worry. Someone else I know had a child with similar issues - a UTI that wouldn’t clear - and it was cancer.
She is still very very positive for white blood cells in her urine which means there’s an infection still there.

Has anyone had similar and it’s turned out ok? I am concerned that once the antibiotics stopnthe symptoms will return again as obviously the infection is still there.

My dd had this a few times between the ages of 2 and 3. She needed antibiotics for longer than the 5 days prescribed but they always cleared in the end. She went for the ultrasound and nothing was wrong, she just grew out of them. We also stopped giving her blackcurrant juice because I heard it can contribute which may or may not have had an effect.

Thank you. Was your dd ill - like high temp etc too?
Dd hasn’t been unwell just hurting when she went for a wee. That’s stopped but she still has white blood cells in her wee and they haven’t gone away at all.
