I'm So Impressed With Jacinda Ardern

I can't think of another politician who would be uniting with her people in such a personal way.

She just seems so genuine, going to pay her respects and comforting mourners with an embrace. She's either a PR master or she's a genuinely wonderful person.

I saw her on the news yesterday talking to school students who had lost classmates. Someone asked her how she was. She said 'thank you for asking. I'm really sad.' It was so natural and open.

I think she has reminded everyone of what leadership should look like. She has shown great strength and clarity as well as compassion and comes across as a normal human being. It's sad that we're all so shocked by this, but then to say that we're lacking in decent leaders would be something of an understatement

Great politician and opposition parties supportive too. All working together for the common interest. How amazing would that be.

Thank god there are still politicians left with sense and a heart. It's a hopeful thing to see.

can you imagine May, Trump, Merkel or even Obama interacting with mourners never mind giving them a cuddle?

No, god no, probably not and yes definitely. Obama would totally be comforting people and present.

I am from NZ, was there until a few months ago.

I do not always agree with JA's policies and feel that in some ways she has been ineffectual as a PM.

However, I have nothing but admiration and respect for how she has handled the difficult role of leadership in the wake of this horror. She has been sincere, respectful, empathic, resolute, and genuine, with very real dignity and aroha.

She said she would tighten gunlaws, and she IS using the momentum of this horrific crime against New Zealand Muslims to do so, at speed. We got complacent in the wake of Aramoana, and our laws definitely need to be tightened.

She has put her money where her mouth is - unlike another PM who made assurances he was quick to resile from in the wake of the earthquakes.

I think she is amazing. We where pregnant at the same time and I just watched her in awe.
