Anyone else had this virus with the sore throat from hell?!

Oh my goodness I’m in agony! It started on Weds evening and my throat is on fire. Cold, cough but the throat pain is just awful! I’m alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol but at this time of night nothing touches it. Anyone had it who can tell me it doesn’t last much longer? Please!

I’m up with DD4 coughing and I too have a sore throat. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Nope but we've got vomiting children here. I feel pretty awful as well.

This sounds like what I had and not to scare you but even though it improved a bit it lasted about a month Sad and as I think you meant, it was always worse at night. I'm pregnant so didn't try ibuprofen but Boots do an anaesthetic spray in a green bottle which I found very good at numbing it.

Also have you tried dispersible codeine and paracetamol? That was always my go to with things like this.

Watch it's not streptococcus. One of my kids had it a couple of weeks ago and I'm now waiting for my results back off the doctor. Horrible.
