And we loved it Grin
The Cat is a firm favourite with us.
Can't wait for the next Avengers now.

I saw it today too channeling my inner teenager (I'm 63) and loved it as well.

TeamLannister · 16/03/2019 20:49

I went last weekend with DH & 8 year old DD. We all loved it!! I loved the cracking 90's soundtrack, DD also loved the cat. Can't wait for the next Avengers one now.

Mrsoh39 · 16/03/2019 20:50

We loved the Flerken! Awesome film. Female, black, single mum. It definitely felt more representative. Loved the Fury backstory too.

ShaggyRug · 16/03/2019 21:19

Totally loved it too. She’s my fave character now I think.

DonnaDarko · 16/03/2019 21:24

I think it's one of the best marvel movies so far. I thoroughly enjoyed it and DP didn't make a single complaint (which is very unusual for him).

Mrsoh39 · 16/03/2019 21:26

Loved the eyeballs at the end too Grin

OMG so glad you are giving it good reviews off to see this tomorrow with my adult sons as an early mothers day treat 😊 and am excited to see it. They are also taking me to the midnight showing of Avengers Endgame cos I am a huge Marvel nerd 😶

Mrsoh39 · 17/03/2019 09:06

Enjoy Cheekychops

Cheekychops73

I hate to say this but being a "marvel nerd" could be what spoils the film for you.

Cheekychops73 · 17/03/2019 11:04

@Mrsoh39 Thank you I will 👍 @BoneyBackJefferson och I'll just ignore any bits that aren't quite right & put on my just for entertainment hat today 😀

ShaggyRug · 17/03/2019 13:58

One of the reasons I loved it was because (and trying not to spoil anything but WEAK SPOILER ALERT) with the majority of superheroes they hold themselves to some moral stance that often means the bad guys get away or cause the superhero a loss in some way. A sort of pride or being easily goaded into being tricked by the bad guy. There’s a moment in Captain Marvel where the bad guy tries this... and instead of wasting time playing his game, she kicks his arse. I love that Grin. Finally a superhero that fully uses her powers.

LokiLocks · 17/03/2019 14:11

I'm a 'Marvel nerd' too and absolutely loved it. At one point (can't say which because of spoilers) I wanted to get out of my seat and cheer Carol on. There's a cameo by Kelly Sue DeConnick as well (amazing writer who took on Captain Marvel and pretty much made her who she is today) and her expression is priceless Grin

It's brilliant to see young women and girls looking up to Carol and Maria Rambeau etc and finally we have a female centric Marvel film that's proving all the Carol haters wrong. Also, my favourite SHIELD agent is there! swoons over Clark Greg

Nifflerbowtruckle · 17/03/2019 14:16

I loved it! Can't wait for Endgame now. I do keep side eyeing the cat though 🤔

Just seen Captain Marvel

Loved it loved it loved it! I was actually in tears all the way home because it was the first time I'd seen a powerful woman portrayed so positively. Not the Tarantino-style male fantasy of a femme fatale, but a realistic, likeable, funny, clever, good-hearted woman who happened to be super-powerful. This and Black Panther make me SO GLAD to live in these times as a BME woman.

Monr0e · 17/03/2019 20:31

We took 12 year old DS last night and all loved it.

Some proper laugh out loud moments and I agree, a great soundtrack too.

And Goose is our new favourite character

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 17/03/2019 20:35

I really, really need to get a boxset of all the Marvel films and watch them in order.

I've lost track after Ironman II

Cheekychops73 · 17/03/2019 20:57

Back from seeing it and it was brilliant. Loved Carol Danvers she kicked ass brilliantly. Loved it all , my boys enjoyed it and so did the rest of the cinema by the sounds of the laughter. Loved seeing how Fury got his eye patch and thought the tribute to Stan Lee at the start was beautifully done. I definitely want a Goose 🐈🐈🐈

Rememberallball · 17/03/2019 21:14

It’s on our radar for as soon as I feel better this week (got home from holiday Tuesday - had been away 5 weeks on a cruise of a lifetime - developed the cold from hell complete with blocked sinuses and aching teeth on Wednesday) as is the Fisherman’s Friends film which has also had good reviews this weekend!!
