Wtf is wrong with DP?!

StickyShoess · 16/03/2019 20:20

DP went out to get popcorn - came back with salty shit, who the hell eats salty popcorn?!
So he went back out for some real sweet stuff ... and came back with a bag of sweet and salted!! Mixed together! Like fucking popcorn roulette!
How fucking difficult is it to go out and buy a bag of popcorn?!
I’ve given up and I’m eating Maltese’s instead 🙄

You sent him out twice?

Sweet and salted is sufficient, surely?

Imfinehowareyou · 16/03/2019 20:25

The only popcorn worth eating is toffee popcorn. Absolutely send him out for a third trip else he will never learn.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 16/03/2019 20:26

Send him here, I love salty!

MessyMummy15 · 16/03/2019 20:26

Salty wins!!!

Raspberrytruffle · 16/03/2019 20:27

Yanbu op! Ltb or atleast make him stay on the sofa until lessons are learned Grin

ShaggyRug · 16/03/2019 20:28

Sweet & salty mix is popcorn nirvana. Yum!

CassandraCross · 16/03/2019 20:29

I like all popcorn, sweet, salty and that caramel coated stuff that glues your teeth together - I assume that's the variety you were secretly hoping for OP? M&S used to do some marvellous, sick inducing, popcorn think it was called Butter Popcorn or something but they seem to have phased the sugar load delight out.

Whisky2014 · 16/03/2019 20:29

Salty is the best. What is wrong with you?

Crunchymum · 16/03/2019 20:31

Wouldn't eat salty if someone was pouring it down my throat but sweet & salty I'd deal with Grin

TinselAndKnickers · 16/03/2019 20:34

Sweet and salty is the best, then salty, and only if I am absolutely desperate will I eat sweet!

Racheyg · 16/03/2019 20:36

I hate sweet popcorn 🤢 give me salted or sweet and salted 😋

EleanorLavish · 16/03/2019 20:36

When i moved to the UK from Ireland salty popcorn was in my top 5 of foods I missed. The Irish are mad for salty popcorn!
Thank god they’ve seen the light and you can get it now.
Not manhatten popcorn but near enough.
Sweet and toffee- go and shite!

Ellieboolou27 · 16/03/2019 20:39

YABU sweet is vile - salty all the way

Ninkaninus · 16/03/2019 20:40

Salted is the best.

But sweet and salted is also very nice. Especially with Prosecco or a nice crisp white wine.

drspouse · 16/03/2019 20:42

Mmm home made warm popcorn with butter and salt.
I would make some but we just had a Chinese takeaway and I'm quite full.

StickyShoess · 16/03/2019 20:44

You’re all weirdos!
Sweet or cinema style or nothing at all - clearly tonight it is nothing at all 🙄

Mmmmmmmm yes nothing beats freshly popped popcorn (cooked in a pan, in oil, definitely not in one of those horrid air-cooking, no-fat monstrosities!), although I prefer mine with no butter and just plenty of salt.

Haven’t made it in years!

h0rsewithn0name · 16/03/2019 20:47

I feel you pain. I once sent DH out for chocolate and he came back with an alpen bar.

He was sent straight back out again.

gamerchick · 16/03/2019 20:47

Have you actually tried the sweet and salty?

mimibunz · 16/03/2019 20:51

Sweet is vile. Popcorn is supposed to be salty. In American movie theatres they provide salt and butter stations so you can prepare your heart attack just the way you like it.

Whatsforu · 16/03/2019 20:53

Ha ha ha I am impressed you got him to go out a second time, hats off to you!!! However I sympathise they always come back with the wrong stuff. My dp went to get chocolate me thinking galaxy or similar he came back with fruit pieces covered in what seemed like dark cooking chocolate bleurgh!!!

BishooWishoo · 16/03/2019 21:01

@CassandraCross, oh M&S popcorn really was the best, wasn’t it! It was basically a small kernel of popped corn thickly coated in buttery toffee. So good. My gran used to buy it for us and for some reason, she always called it “bobies’. Feeling nostalgic now.

JaretsGirlfren · 16/03/2019 21:04

#TeamSalty

AlpacaLypse · 16/03/2019 21:05

Butterkist popcorn was the most memorable bit of going to the ropey old suburban cinema at the end of my grannie's street when we went to stay with her in school holidays. Unless it's got industrial level layers of toffee flavoured goo on it popcorn is very very wrong.

DonnaDarko · 16/03/2019 21:15

I only like salty popcorn. Send him here 😂
