Wanted- leak-proof coffee mug 'thermos'. Any recommendations?

Want to get DS one so he can take hot coffee to uni with him, to save money and time.

It needs to be properly waterproof, so not those brushed stainless steel ones with the black plastic screw on top and steam vent you can get, don't want a wrecked tablet in his backpack on the bus!; and needs to hold 500mls.

Also, it needs to be in some way 'mug shaped', so he can drink out of it in the same way you'd drink out of a mug.

Any ideas?

Got a tip tip I got one for Christmas is is dishwasher friendly too and you can customise the colours it is fab ! frank green and can be used for posh tea too as has a strainer thingie. It is awesome

I was going to recommend my HydroFlask coffee mug. Leakproof.
I was going to add a picture to show the one I have.

My contigo stays hot for about 3 hours but that is sipping slowly. If you leave it full and then drink it, I think it's still hot about 4-5 hours later.

My DH uses this contigo mug everyday for work and he reckons it keeps his coffee hot for hours and never spills

Contigo are not great - only keep coffee luke warmish for an hour or so.
Hydro Flask is our recommendation. We have been through most other makes and this is the only one that works. The one with the solid lid (no flip up but) seriously works for hours. The one with the flip up lip is also good but it doesn’t stay piping hot for as long

I use my Contigo daily. If I don’t sip from it, my tea is still hot 4 hours later.

My Contigo keeps hot for an hour of so if you don't sip, but once you start sipping you need to finish it in half an hour or so. I can't bear lukewarm coffee though.

How does everyone have a leak-proof Contigo? Mine is super leaky. I just bring a giant thermos and use a mug.

Oh, this could have saved my life if I had known about it 6 months ago.
I'm not concerned about the keeping hot element - the no spill element is important to me though (as I manage to spill coffee down my top on a daily basis).
Does anyone have a link to their tried and trusted contigo that doesn't spill?

I adore my contigo it is the only properly leakproof coffee mug I’ve ever had and keeps drinks properly hot for at least 2-3 hours.

Are any of these good for tea specifically, or only coffee? My contigo makes tea taste funny.

The frank green one is for tea too specifically so leak proof and all goes in dishwasher I love it

Contigo. I take it to college every day. Kids take to school with hot chocolate. DH takes to work. The very very best. No leaks. But do not sip for 2 hours - it keeps it boiling.

Klean Kanteen here too - I love mine and DH has one too. We’ve got the 20oz ones and they keep drinks hot for 14 hours and cold for 24 hours and are completely leak proof. You can either drink from the cap or pour it into a mug to drink from. They’re also wide-mouthed enough to be used to keep ice creams in too in summer!

Mine is a frank green never had anything so awesome due to warmth , leak proof and it goes in the dishwasher. You can have pish tea too it has a strainer and you can customise it mine is pink and grey :-)

Sorry to hijack op but can anyone recommend one for soup? I have a thermos mug and it leaks and after 2 hours barely even warm? Needs to be more short and ‘squat’ so I can get my spoon in as my make chunky soup?
