Want to get DS one so he can take hot coffee to uni with him, to save money and time.

It needs to be properly waterproof, so not those brushed stainless steel ones with the black plastic screw on top and steam vent you can get, don't want a wrecked tablet in his backpack on the bus!; and needs to hold 500mls.

Also, it needs to be in some way 'mug shaped', so he can drink out of it in the same way you'd drink out of a mug.

Any ideas?

@scissorsandpen, I am not sure I'd want one that does "pish tea" TBH! Wink

I find that the Contigo West Loop keeps drinks hotter for longer than the Contigo Pinnacle, which is a bit smaller. They’re both completely leak-proof - i LOVE them.

I also have a Contigo (well 2 actually). I fill mine with boiling water and let it heat the insulation, then fill with coffee. Lasts for 2 to 3 hours and I hate lukewarm coffee.

I have two bodum mugs - one each for tea & coffee. Both great. However, DH has one, his does not seal quite as well, despite being newer than my tea mug. If you do try the Bodum, get the metal, not the plastic version. Plastic version is dreadful, doesn't keep hot very long, & cracks with very little impact. I preheat it at about 7am with boiling water, make drink at 7:30ish. If left unopened, it's usually still good around mid day. Especially if I wrap it in a fleece hat in the drinks pocket of my bag.

Get one from an outdoor / camping / mountaineering shop. Always better.
