What’s this in my throat? Gross pic attached

Apologies about the gross picture. I get tonsil stones occasionally so regularly poke about in my throat - this fleshy thing is new above my adenoid/tonsil thing.

I’ve been feeling like I’m coming down with something for about a fortnight.

Does anyone have any ideas? I’m fit as a fiddle otherwise!

Sorry not adenoids, tonsils (things at the right/left hand side of your throat)

Something nasty left by a Face Hugger?

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 15:25

Is it not your uvula? Perhaps a bit swollen? I may be looking at the wrong bit though.

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 15:28

Yeah I it’s the bit above my uvula - it’s new though?

Its not sore - well it wasn’t till I poked at it trying to get a photo

Sorry @picklemepopcorn I don’t think it is my uvula - is that the bit in the middle? It the on the left hand side of my throat, above what I think are the tonsils

I can't really see anything. I would say, salt water rinses is pretty much the first port of call. See if it gets better or worse!

diavlo · 16/03/2019 15:39

Looks possibly like a Tonsil stone.

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 15:43

Thanks pickle - I’ve got cordolysl mouthwash too that I think I’ll gargle

Not a tonsil stone, i get them regularly, they’re white/green and stink. This is a fleshy lump

The red pokey out bit?

I can't see anything above your uvula.

I can see a rescue fleshy pokey out bit. If you get tonsil stones then it's likely to be flesh full of that. Which should go away by itself.
If it doesn't see your GP.

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 15:45

My photography skills and anatomy descriptions prob aren’t helping 😆

OP posts:
BoobiesToTheRescue · 16/03/2019 15:48

Have you pushed down on it?

It's likely that tonsil stones will emerge from a totally different place.

I speak from experience 🤢

babysharkah · 16/03/2019 15:53

That looks like a tonsil stone. Does it smell!!?

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 15:58

Yep poked and prodded - it’s attached. Unless there are tonsil stones behind it and pushing it forward when it would otherwise be tucked away.

Normally I can tell by the smell of my breath if I have tonsil stones

OP posts:
BoobiesToTheRescue · 16/03/2019 21:28

You can see it's attached.

There's very likely to be stones behind it, yes that's exactly what I mean. Not nice!

Tessywoooooo · 16/03/2019 22:51

Oh gross

OP posts:
Amazonfromkent · 17/03/2019 05:25

It's a part of a tonsil?

Tessywoooooo · 17/03/2019 07:16

Yeah I think it is part of a tonsil that I haven’t seen before - I woke up with a sore throat both sides and a bunged up nose so I’m obv getting the cold or something 🤷‍♀️

picklemepopcorn · 17/03/2019 08:26

I think you should stop prodding it... rely on warm saltwater gargles, as often as you can. It reduces the inflammation as well as having a cleansing effect.

It could be a gland, it could be hidden tonsil stones. But they aren't ready to come out by the sound of it.

HarrySnotter · 17/03/2019 08:33

Thank fuck I don't have any tonsils. Sorry OP, I hope this goes away soon it must be very uncomfortable.
