WOW!

I've never been to a Muslim wedding, is it typical?!

What's it on? I'm bored and want to watch something lovely.

FrizzyHairDontCare · 16/03/2019 15:23

It's BBC Scotland, but I watched it on iPlayer. Lovely lovely families and these huge extravagant weddings!

Yep pretty much usual, I photograph weddings and my main client is large Asian weddings. They all tend to be the same though once you’ve attended a few in the same year.

I've watched it now. I'm ashamed to say that despite having Scottish family, it took me a while to realise what Saira meant when she said arum... arm, I'm such a dozy mare.

OP you've not caused any offence in sure. All ask an weddings whether Muslim Hindu or Sikh are very similiar. We love a big extravagant wedding!! They are colourful and fun and the food is to die for !! I hope you have the pleasure to go to one xx

I saw the first episode. Must cost an absolute fortune with guestlists of 500+. Even the money spent on flowers alone must be eye watering! I loved the casual 'oh we expect some people to turn up who haven't RSVP'd, that's standard' Grin

And as nice as she was the mum of the family they featured, with the two sons, she would be one intense mother in law!

FrizzyHairDontCare · 16/03/2019 19:42

I love the Glaswegian accent and all the extra syllables they put in Grin The mum with the pink hijab in the second episode had a brilliant Glaswegasian accent.

Jeepers, she would Grin She loves her boys Grin

I watched it. The bridal outfits are stunning! I love the grey/silver/blue one in the opening credits where she's dancing.

FrizzyHairDontCare · 16/03/2019 19:53

I love the bedazzled jewel colour outfits. And the women are all so gorgeous.

I've just started the second episode- how sad for that lovely boy to lose his Mum. So glad the girl who had cancer is recovering.

I've been to many Hindu weddings in the past and the mum Muno was as intense as I've encountered all mums at weddings.

Yes the lady that had fought cancer was lovely but the groom whose mum died days before the wedding, tearful. I have a friend whose mum died before she got married, mum was insistent the wedding wasn't bought forwards. I'm just an emotional wreck with things like that.
