Where to go on a wet and windy day?

I’m sick of being cooped up indoors. Where can we go in northwest of England to let kids burn off some energy? Trampoline parks are an option but I’d really prefer somewhere outdoors (but out of the wind!) and that won’t cost £10 each. 4dc aged 5-13. What’s everyone doing today?

Swimming?
Any climbing centres near you?
Orienteering?
Geocaching?
You could practically swim in the rain where I am so it's an indoor day for me!

Well I'm staying in, well away from the wind and rain! As a pp said, swimming?

Or indoor go carting?

Where I live I would say bowling then down to the bus shelter to eat fish & chips!!
And a walk along the beach to find something interesting to take home!!

We are north west too. The other weekend when it was just windy we went to Crosby Beach. Never been before, but was keen to see the statues by Antony Gormley. My 4 year old loves running on the beach and throwing stones into the sea.

However, if you’re anywhere near me today the weather is awful. So windy and incredibly wet, but perfect weather for a puddle hunt. Wellies on and waterproofs required, but so much fun for all ages. Find a puddle and jump in it. Splash at each other and then go home via the chip shop!
