I was just wondering how long I would end I would end up breast feeding for in total.

It was be at least 4-5 years.

I figured there would be people on here with a lot more breast feeding years under their belt and wondered how many years there were.

9 years (so far) without a bloody break. Four kids. I’m sick to the back teeth of it to be quite honest.

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 16/03/2019 11:56

31 months so far (2 children) but am still going with dd

Roomba · 16/03/2019 12:01

Altogether over 6.5 years - 2 years with DS1 and over 4.5 years with DS2.

I only intended to give it a try for the first couple of weeks to ensure they got the colostrum at least! Never anticipated it being as easy as it turned out to be (I know it isn't for many, many women) and for them to be such boob monsters Grin

Two DCs, breastfed 3.5 years with a 3 month overlap of tandem feeding in the middle. I never thought I'd do it that long. I find I miss it when I am looking after DNephew and I can't use nursing to solve every problem from hunger to comfort to sleep!

elliejjtiny · 16/03/2019 12:08

Nearly 7 years plus 5 months exclusively pumping. 5 dc

Johnnysmilkingparlour · 16/03/2019 12:09

About 5 years between two children.

BirdsInTheAttic · 16/03/2019 12:12

Just over five years so far, with a six-month break. Can’t see any end on the horizon although I’m starting to feel a bit over it!

WeeMadArthur · 16/03/2019 12:13

Nearly 6 years, one child (admittedly it was only for naps/sleep from 1 year old)

OpiesOldLady · 16/03/2019 12:14

I started breastfeeding in May 2008, and finished in February 2017 - so nine years is in total, and three children. My youngest finished feeding on her fifth birthday.

LLOE7 · 16/03/2019 12:14

flumpybear · 16/03/2019 12:20

Mine was so short because I hated it

FruHagen · 16/03/2019 12:24

2 children - 4.5 years

wotsittoyou · 16/03/2019 12:36

If I were to add the years for each individual child together, 16 years! But I tandem fed most of the time, so I actually spent 8 years breastfeeding.

PorpentinaScamander · 16/03/2019 12:37

4 years and 4 months. 2 DC

squeekums · 16/03/2019 12:37

2 days, 1 dd

MadameJosephine · 16/03/2019 12:37

2 children, 6 years in total

Justonemorepancake · 16/03/2019 12:39

4.5 years, 1 kid

SweetheartNeckline · 16/03/2019 12:39

6 years so far I think, have just had DC4 so will probably be 8 or 9 in total. Not tandem fed but have fed toddlers while pregnant.

ContessaIsOnADietDammit · 16/03/2019 12:40

15 weeks, if that, with formula from day 1 for both (not my choice). 2 DC

JiltedJohnsJulie · 16/03/2019 12:41
