Why are you letting them?

PotteringAlong · 15/03/2019 19:49

Just say no! It’s not suitable!

Dementedswan · 15/03/2019 19:50

How does she even know about that film? Confused

Ummm Confused

Figgygal · 15/03/2019 19:52

How did she watch it in the first place?
My kids watch some random stuff but that's proper weird

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 15/03/2019 19:52

My kids used to love Judge Judy Grin

Whippit · 15/03/2019 19:54

I was watching it in my bedroom. She wandered in and asked why the daddy was burning the food. I said because he doesn’t know how to cook. She sat down next to me and watched the whole film.

It’s hardly a drug fuelled romp fest Wink

I’ve asked her why she likes it. She said she likes the bit where the daddy burns the food and the boy rides his bike and then the mummy comes back.

Tbh I’d take it over paw patrol any day of the week

When I was a kid I used to love Father Dowling Mysteries, hence my username . . . . .

SavoyCabbage · 15/03/2019 19:58

I'd just go with it now. And at the supermarket and st playgroup I'd say loudly 'come on, let's go home and watch Kramer versus Kramer now'

You've got to amuse yourself when you are with a toddler all day.

EspressoPatronum · 15/03/2019 19:59

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Amazing.

Mumshappy · 15/03/2019 20:01

When one of my dds was three she had a phase where she would only watch the film My girl. It lasted for a couple of months. Kept her quiet lol.

flitwit99 · 15/03/2019 20:03

I was thinking about that film the other day. Is it in Netflix or Amazon? Where do you watch it?
Can't imagine any of my kids being interested but each to their own. Be sure and remind her it was her favourite when she's 15!

ShinyRuby · 15/03/2019 20:04

Honestly, just say no & introduce her to something else more age appropriate! I know they get obsessed with watching the same things but you can do better than Kramer Vs Kramer!

Jeffjefftyjeff · 15/03/2019 20:05

Omg I loved that as a small child. I have no idea why. French toast maybe?

Whippit · 15/03/2019 20:06

@flitwit99 NOW TV! Netflix probably has it though

Whippit · 15/03/2019 20:07

@jeff, yep its definitely something to do with the french toast, she loves that bit!

Kids really can obsess over the most random things. My DS went through nearly a year long stage at 3yo, where he just asked to watch 'James' everyday; he loved James Corden's Late Late Show Grin

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 15/03/2019 20:13

Isn't that film like SO sad???

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 15/03/2019 20:15

Fooffighter mine was the Poseidon Adventure! Still love a good disaster film.

SwimmingJustKeepSwimming · 15/03/2019 20:16

Sruff like that can really stick in kids heads and come out mo ths later when they're worrying mum could go away or some related thing.

I really wouldnt watch that kind of thing with a 3 year old, just put something else on for them.

GarthFunkel · 15/03/2019 20:16

That's tame compared to the video my nephew had at the same age. He'd yell I WANT THE BOYZ!!! It was a video of primary school aged children singing nursery rhymes and other songs, while dressed in costumes and at least one song was set in a double story child-sized house. Like a giant dolls house full of creepily dressed 8 year olds singing folk songs and dancing. It was disturbing, really disturbing Grin They weren't the best singers either. Or perhaps it was dubbed.... imagine something produced in Europe in 1980.
