I loved the poseidon adventure too CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre! I made the kids watch it at Christmas and they were traumatised (and it was a bit crap Sad)

rightreckoner · 15/03/2019 20:23

Love it Grin. That film is devastating but I guess he’s loving the French toast and the long phone cord which I thought was incredibly modern and chic back in the day.

Housewife2010 · 15/03/2019 21:09

I saw the film again last summer on Netflix. Apart from one scene with a scantily clad woman leaving Dustin Hoffman's bedroom, I can't remember anything inappropriate about it. I saw grown up TV when I was a child - I remember watching lots of period dramas in the mid 70s when I was only 4 or 5. I think it's rather sweet and quirky that it's your child's TV choice.

I'm watchin it right now.
Dustin Hoffman's jeans! They are something else. I'd forgotten about them.

Whippit · 16/03/2019 06:59

The jeans! I never realised how short he was tbh!

Check out the Sony Movie Channel in 31 minutes op Wink

Wauden · 16/03/2019 12:08

She might grow up to be a lawyer, then.

Cherylshaw · 16/03/2019 12:18

My 4 year old keeps watching the African wedding channel? I have no idea what he gets out of it or how he even found it. Tbf it's better than watching people inside big balloons (wtf is that all about anyway)
I'd rather be watching Andy on cbeebies if I'm being honest, each to their own

Raera · 16/03/2019 12:20

At that age mine only wanted to watch Countdown. All day if she could.
Came in useful because she learned all the letters and had any eye problem. Optometrist was amazed she could use the adult eye chart!!

EleanorLavish · 16/03/2019 12:21

I loved watching Val Doonican on a Sat evening as a child...
I’ll get my coat.

magicstar1 · 16/03/2019 12:22

I loved the Poseidon Adventure too. I remember watching The Towering Inferno one afternoon while my nana was asleep....I loved it, but when I went to stand up my legs were like jelly. Still love old disaster movies though.

Cuddlysnowleopard · 16/03/2019 12:26

Oh, yes to the Towering Inferno, and the Poseidon Adventure. My Dsis and I loved them. We used to re-enact them in our living room, using the sofa as the ship etc. Miles more fun than Blue Peter or Playschool.

PerpendicularVincent · 16/03/2019 13:10

DS loves Come Dine with Me almost as much as he loves sweets Grin

EllaEllaE · 16/03/2019 13:16

My 3 year old son was obsessed with music video for the longest time. He'd call it the 'pretty lady song' and insist I sing it to him in the car. It's an awesome song but...

Rockbird · 16/03/2019 13:19

DD2 was 3 when her Call the Midwife obsession started. It's only now that she's 7 that I'm starting to censor some of the episodes for her as there are things she would question and be upset by now that would have gone over her head in the past.

CurlsandCurves · 16/03/2019 13:26

My 9 year old loves watching the Ellen DeGeneres show on YouTube!

Wauden · 16/03/2019 13:33

@jent85 I am watching it right now!

DontWannaBeObamasElf · 16/03/2019 13:40

One of my favourite films growing up was Rita, Sue and Bob Too. Now THAT is inappropriate 😂.

EscapeTheCastle · 16/03/2019 14:07

Maybe she been won over by Diddy Dustin with his long hair. I used to like watching David Soul Starsky & Hutch for his luscious locks alone.

Housewife2010 · 16/03/2019 14:32

It's on Sony Movie Channel (Freeview 32) at the moment. They're currently making French toast.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 16/03/2019 15:07

It used to be Good Life, Jeeves and Wooster or Poirot in our house.

Only 3 year old to refer to situations as a ‘rum deal’

Jellyonawonkyplate · 16/03/2019 15:17

I'd just go with it now. And at the supermarket and st playgroup I'd say loudly 'come on, let's go home and watch Kramer versus Kramer now'

Wauden · 16/03/2019 15:42

Just watched it on Sony music channel and on second thoughts, if your DD is going to be a lawyer Wink, then the film certainly shows the tough side! Shock

LarryGreysonsDoor · 16/03/2019 15:46

I loved Blazing Saddles!

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 16/03/2019 15:53

I used to watch Roadhouse all the time when I was 4. Where Patrick Swayze would rip people’s throats out Hmm

I remember been confused why Johnny from dirty dancing was being so different.
