Title says it all really - off to London next week and would like to incorporate a bus journey or two without the expense of the tour bus! Any tips welcome :)

Use oyster and you can change between buses for free within an hour.

I think the 9 still has some original route masters in it.

The number 15 is pretty good. You can get from Oxford St and it will take you down to Tower of London and seeing Piccadilly Circus, Strand and pass St Paul's.

RV1 is Covent Garden to Tower Bridge. We use a combination of walking and buses all round London.

Number 11, Victoria to Liverpool Street - best done in that direction, for view of St Paul's.

It's the 15 which still has Routemasters.

I used to take the NO 12 bus across London bridge, past houses of parliament, Piccadilly circus up to Oxford circus.

Thank you! I've also just discovered the TFL website - it's a slight revalation. Where I live there is only 1 bus a day and they often go strange routes with no transparency about stops etc!

I've discovered the 14 will get us from South Ken to Piccadilly.

I'm v comfortable with London as lived there but always used trains/tube never buses!
