What the hell is this virus ??

Got it from my ds as isual . Tongue full of painfull ulcers swollen neck glands ! Anyone else got this ??

Yes I had the mother of all colds for about 48 hours but the worst of it was the raw, throbbing gum pain for about 3 days before. It felt like the swollen gums I’d had in pregnancy. It presents a little differently in different people. My dh has theswollen neck glands. It really floored me but it is short and sharp.

My ds was actually hospitalized because he could not even swallow his saliva ! Home now but he is still unwell since last friday ! Now i got it and i feel so awful my whole tongue is filled with small not really visible blisters

Anyone else ?? Cant find anything similar on google ! Am starting to think we have a rare deadly virus !!

Could be a strain of the virus that causes hand, foot and mouth.

Hmm no blisters in hands or feet just in the mouth ! Its been a week since ds had it and hia tongue is still sore keep waking up rubing his lips

I had this just after Xmas. Tongue full of small blisters. Can honestly say it was SO painful even bongella and ambesol didn't work! I did get some mouth and throat sweets from the pharmacist that did help numb the pain a little: bit I lost half a stone in a few days as it was far too painful to eat. On reflection I think it must have been hand foot and mouth but I didn't have any signs on hands and feet.

Hopefully you feel better soon I know how painful it is!!

Also suffering from this! Didn't realise it was a virus until 3 of us who had been round each other had all the same things! My tongue is so sore!

How long dos it last for you ?? My ds is on day 8 !!

Oh gosh, I have this too! I feel like I've been hit by a truck too. Absolutely no energy at all. I've missed 3 days at work because if it. My OH has it too - we spent 2 days earlier in the week just lying in bed. Mist unlike us.

Oh yes. Three days off work with this doozy - all mucus membranes suffering! Also needed to pee lots. Weird. But awful. Still far from 100%.

The main symptom I had when I got glandular fever was a mouth full of ulcers.

Sounds exactly like Coxsackie virus to me! Totally grim, I caught it from DS1 when he was about 2: he was fine in a few days and I was floored!

The strange thing is that he has no fever and this is the 8th day !

Look up the HSV virus. It's the first time the cold sore virus activates.

When I had HFM it felt like I had eaten a bunch of stinging nettles. The roof of my mouth was mottled and so sore and itchy.

Not had anything like this recently I’m glad to say but currently dizzy as anything with another cold.

@BaaBaaBaaMoo they have swapped for herpes but thats not it ! We are in hospital
Now he has been admitted again :(
