Send to nursery or not?

Yesterday DD aged 3 came home early from nursery. She had a high temp, no appetite. Gave her Calpol and by the time I got back at 4 she was her usual self. Full of beans, ate a good dinner, but pale.

She slept all night woke up this morning temp of 38.5, a bit croaky. Have given paracetamol, and she is on fine form. Eaten brekkie total chatter box.

So, do I send her in? The nursery is two mins away and I am at home today so could I think she probably has a virus of some sort, but is on fine form.

Hmmmm

No, don’t send her with a high temperature.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/03/2019 07:31

I’d keep her off, sounds like she’s coming down with something, especially being that you’re off. Hope she’s ok.

Definitely not.
I had to pull my DS out of nursery due to people sending their DCs there while not well. He suffers from febrile convulsions and the slightest temp can cause one. Please think of the other children at the setting.

No, since you're off anyway I would keep her home and wait to see what's brewing.

Our nursery wouldn’t let them back within 24 hours after sending them home with a temp I don’t think... I would probably keep her home if you are home anyway

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 15/03/2019 07:36

No don’t send her, she’s contagious!

Bubblysqueak · 15/03/2019 07:38

No, our nursery wouldn't accept her anyway as she is Calpol dependent to keep her temp down and back to normal self.

Belleende · 15/03/2019 07:41

I think you are right, but she loves nursery and is full of beans. The job applications can wait. I think a day of play with me and her sister will do no harm.

Most kids are full of beans when they are dosed up on calpol. That isn’t the same as fit and well.

NewSchoolNewName · 15/03/2019 07:56

I’d keep her off, if she needs calpol to keep her temperature down she’s not really well enough for nursery.
