Can anyone advise on this? My 11 year old Jack Russell has a black growth thing on his head. A google search has scared me into thinking melanoma. Does anyone recognise?

My jack has had umpteen growths in his time. He's 16 now and has outlived all his lumps.

I can't tell you that that is harmless. But I can tell you that it probably is. Get to your vet, get yourself some reassurance Flowers

Thank you! We had a bit of a scare late last year when he stopped eating for a few days and using the toilet and some how miraculously got better as we got to the vets 😂😩 £300 later as well! But we realised how much we take him for granted as we thought we’d lose him so I don’t want to feel that again :(

Old dogs get lumpy... Ddog is very lumpy but all non cancer. Had a lump that was worrying/examined & chewed it off prior to surgery 😯 still lumpy but nothing sinister. Speak to a vet and have a biopsy if worried.

It does seem a terrier thing btw if that's any consolation. Not saying don't get it checked out but I've had umpteen breeds and only the one lumpy (terrier) dog.

I’d love to see a pic of all of him! Smile

@WooWooCocktail it looks like a wart to me. My old woofer has plenty (see above Smile)

One of my JRT has a small circular lump like that on his face i was told it was a wart by the vet. Also it's slow growing so they weren't too concerned.
