Best Smoked Salmon?

Just had some from Asda ( not the extra special range) & it was really salty. I have had some delicious stuff in the past but can’t remember where from. Can anyone recommend a particular brand?

Lidl their lighthouse range is good

Aldi's smoked salmon is great. It's a much bigger pack than in Asda, for £3.99, and has a lovely taste. I used some tonight for dinner.

Marks and Spencer

Anywhere that stocks Forman's of London (probably Waitrose stocks it). I say this as a food professional who spent a number of years working in fish

I think it might have been Aldi’s that was good actually. I love Aldi!

I strongly suspect this is a personal preference thing but my preferred buy is the Tesco's own brand (not finest or value). I always find it tastes fresh, isn't fatty or stringy and isn't too salty or fishy.

I've had some from both Aldi and the Co-op recently. Both were too salty, and Aldi's was a bit mushy.

M & S - by a mile!

I buy Aldi smoked salmon too. I haven’t found it mushy and I think it’s decent stuff.

Lidl is very good.

Best smoked salmon by miles is from Secret Smokehouse.

I like Tescos own brand too and Sainsbury's is good.

If you like the Aldi version I'd try that first, it's likely to be a tiny fraction of the price of that in M&S and specialist brands.
