Deleting WhatsApp messages

Hi all, some technical advice/know how needed, I can't find the answer online any where...

I have had a conversation on WhatsApp less than one month ago, and followed in with subsequent convo (same person) more recently. But I'm now unable to find the older part of the conversation. Is this a standard WhatsApp delete thing (even tho I would say it's not a particularly long time scale for auto deleting something)? Or has the other user deleted these older messages... could they do that on my end as well as theirs with no notification to me? Very frustrating! Thanks in advance

Whats App don't delete messages. If the other person had deleted it it would show a deleted message.

That's so weird! I know I haven't deleted anything and it's not showing as deleted by the other person?! Could it be that the other person has left and rejoined WhatsApp? I can't think of any other reason I can't see these older messages :/

If you click on the conversation then click on the persons name, it will take you to another page and on that page there should be a “chat search” option, then type a word in that you know you said in that post
