Holiday - pool for junior age children

Please give me your recommendations for hotels abroad that have great pools for children aged 9 and 5. Everything seems to be either a splash pool aimed at toddlers or enormous terrifying water slides which are more suited to much older children.

I've trawled the internet with absolutely no luck, but there must be hotels that cater for the in-between aged kids! Ideally looking for Balearics but would consider anything up to four hours flight time.

We went to the Mestral y Llebeig in Santo tomas, menorca some years ago. There is a splash pool and 2 regular pools, each with a small shallow pool area for toddlers. Was about 80cm in the shallow end maybe, and about 2m at the deep end - certainly deep enough for diving.

The hotel, at that time, was a series of apartments with decently equipped kitchens and offered a choice of self catering, half board or all inclusive. Santo tomas itself is not particularly cheap, but I've been to more expensive places.

The beach is flat and sandy with a gentle slope into the water. Beautifully calm on calm days. Occasionally there are jellyfish.

The busses ran every couple of hours to mahon or cuitadella and were extremely reasonably priced. Or there were car hire places there.

Yelloh Village at Serignan Plage. Pool and beach, all self catering.
