I’ve run out of idea and looking for inspiration.
Either cold items or I have a regular flask and a food flask.
Thanks

Honestly ? I mostly take sandwiches, as I never know where / when I'll be eating.
However, do you have access to a microwave? Do you tend to go and sit in a dining area / staff room, or do you eat at your desk ?

My (adult) dc tend to take 'leftovers' from the previous night's dinner - bolognaise / chilli / casserole / curry etc.

Bunnylady53 · 15/03/2019 00:05

I only do 4 hour shifts & don’t get a break but when I used to take lunch to work, I would try to vary it as much as possible. The previous night’s leftovers, homemade soups, salads, different breads or rolls etc etc

Misty9 · 15/03/2019 00:09

Salads, cheese and crackers with other toppings, sandwiches, sushi.

DidYeeAye · 15/03/2019 00:09

Generally soups, noodles or pasta bowls.

PurpleDaisies · 15/03/2019 00:11

I eat a lot of daal. Batch cook and freeze in portions. Also soup, cous cous/pasta salad and loads of leftovers

nicecheese · 15/03/2019 00:18

Oat crackers, cheese, fruit, veg sticks, hummus, nuts, hard boiled egg, olives.

Lochnessgiraffe · 15/03/2019 00:23

I have microwave able bowl so sometimes I buy soup. But I also have a M&S about 1min from my work. So I often buy lunch. I'm lucky we have 2fridges and 2 microwaves.

Jozen · 15/03/2019 00:24

Leftovers from last night's tea.
If there's none, I'll do myself a sandwich at the same time as I do the kids lunches.

myidentitymycrisis · 15/03/2019 00:29

I make a big salad most nights with my dinner, and put some in a box for the next day, I add a baked sweet potato or an avocado or hummus or a piece of smoked mackerel. It’s basically a salad with some cold protein on top. Sometimes a pot of home made soup.

hellenbackagen · 15/03/2019 00:40

Sandwiches.
Salads - leaves with cooked chicken and coleslaw/home made dressing
Soups
Chilli/rice
Pasta
Quiche/salad
Posh pot noodles
Rice pots

BernardoTeashop · 15/03/2019 03:18

Thanks everyone. I’m bored eating the same things all the time
Crackers and cheese would be great. Salads would be ideal too but I just need to plan them so there’s enough protein and it fills me up
Thanks for sharing

I loathe making packed lunches, I do the kids, sometimes DHs. If I'm eating lunch I'll have leftovers. Or a donut.

wheresmyhairytoe · 15/03/2019 06:53

Salad with either eggs, tuna or falafel.

ItWentInMyEye · 15/03/2019 07:03

My DP takes leftovers of curry/pasta/kedgeree/stuffed chicken breast etc or I've also started making him cheese & onion pasties using a wrap instead of pastry.

Nnnnnineteen · 15/03/2019 07:43

Yesterday was one of those little pots of hummus, a few crackers and a handful each of cherry toms and radishes. Today will be a cup a soup and some fruit.

ValleyoftheHorses · 15/03/2019 07:47

I take crustless quiches a lot.
4 eggs, pot of cottage cheese and whatever filling you fancy- I do ham and mushroom or salmon and spring onion.
Bake until brown.

Loopytiles · 15/03/2019 07:52

Overnight oats with frozen cherries and yoghurt. Bagels.

Leftover roast lunch salad is good on a Monday!

Leftover pasta.

Cous cous, roasted veg or butternut, feta, leaves.

Rye bread (Ikea kit is good) ploughman’s.

Microwave curries.

Quite like Ryvitas for snacks, sometimes buy small hummus or cream cheese - the packaging / extra cost isn’t brilliant but v convenient and prevents me overeating!

Some of my health conscious (male and female) colleagues have some fab lunches, one was slicing up an avocado in the tea area yesterday!

BernardoTeashop · 15/03/2019 12:59

Some great suggestions. Thanks

I don't. The 2 other women and I take turns buying junk food lunches and gather for a picnic. is sitting in chippy as we speak

dancemom · 15/03/2019 14:34

Overnight oats with berries, I find this really filling.

Salad with lots of chicken.

Oatcakes and grated cheese

In a flask, I take soup or dahl or pasta and sauce and have with crackers or some pitta

DirtyDennis · 15/03/2019 14:36

Homemade soup with bread

Bread roll, vegan cheese and lettuce, crisps

Tortilla wrap filled with chopped onion bhaji and grated carrot, crisps

Cereal

safariboot · 15/03/2019 15:03

Usually sandwiches. Boring I know, but easy.

I had a portion of pasta bake today, but that's just because I'd had to put some of my batch cooking in the office freezer because my own has packed in!
