Is messing up words a sign of old age?

I keep mixing up my kids names and mixing up words that I know I know but can’t seem to come out right.

Like I try to majority and I fudge it up a few times before I get it right

I’m also terrible at my memory now too. I was never excellent to be in with but it’s really declined over the last few months to the point where even my dh has noticed and commented

Is this a sign I’m getting old? Or a sign of something else

I’m 30 btw Grin

You are probably distracted and preoccupied.

AnnieOH1 · 14/03/2019 19:09

It can be but at 30 may be anything from exhaustion to something more serious. Look up "aphasia" and try and keep a record of what mistakes you've made with a date and time at the side. If it begins to be bothersome or you develop other symptoms that cause you to go to GP make sure you mention it.

This is the first thing that happens to me when I'm overtired. As soon as I lose my speaking coherence I know I've overdone things and need a good rest. I'm 30s too 😂

Are you experiencing any stress/problems/changes in your life at the moment? This can cause your brain to have a bit of a melt down & give you the 'tip of the tongue' syndrome.
Are you taking any new medication?
If you are worried then see your GP.

You're probably exhausted. Lack of sufficient sleep will cause confusion.

Fair do

I have an appointment with the doctor to query about fibromyalgia and I’ve noticed that memory seems to be one of the symptoms so that’s one thing to consider. (It’s not my only symptom)

I don’t think it’s tiredness as it can happen all day.

Maybe distraction yes or maybe something else. Good idea about keeping a record
