Excellent answers to interview questions

I have a telephone interview with EE on Monday for a call assistant and I’ve just checked on Glassdoor and some of the questions they ask are “Why do you want to work for EE?” and “What can you bring to the role?” etc. Pretty standard stuff but i’ve been out of the UK for 12 years and out of the job market for 5 due to having dd and ds so have no idea what sort of answer is expected now. I’m guessing the truthful answer of “I desperately want to get off universal credit and build a life for my kids and you guys are the only ones hiring in my shithole town” wouldn’t go down well Grin

"Why do you want to work for EE" is your opportunity to show you've researched the company. So have a look online and pick out attractive things about them - e.g. if they've won any awards for 'Best Employer' - if they've had great annual results, anything they boast about themselves. You could also say that you want to work for a large (multi-national) company where there will be opportunities to progress and develop.

What can you bring to the role - you need to talk about relevant experience, with examples of your success. For call handling, examples of delivering great customer service, thinking on your feet and working in a fast moving environment are all good, plus the classic 'teamwork' of course. Be ready with examples of all the competencies you're going to talk about.

Best of luck!

Sorry, meant to put a '?' after 'multinational' because I assume they're a multinational but I don't know for certain.

and I think it is fine to say I am really keen to get back into work, and work hard after a gap. It is honest, but shows you want the job.
