What to watch on Amazon Prime

I'm a bit of a TV addict and have possibly watched all the best series on Netflix. I loved Suits, White Collar, Scorpion, Inside Number 9, Black Mirror, The Good Place, The Good Wife, Line Of Duty, Limitless, Touch, The Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, The OA, Timeless, Designated Survivor, How To Get Away With Murder and probably others that I can't think of right now.

I have just binge-watched New Amsterdam on Prime, which was fabulous. What else should I watch on Prime?

Agree with those who found New Amsterdam too schmaltzy. It’s definitely not a patch on ER, House or Gray’s Anatomy.

The Americans. x100000 We're binge-watching it now and I can already feel an aching void in our lives approaching as we get near the end of season 5.

Criminal minds and Bones are on prime. Love them!

Not any more Sad criminal minds was taken off last week and I'm devastated. Was three quarters through series 8 and I'm not paying £21.99 a season for the next 5! Mercifully DD hasn't realised that the Thomas the Tank movies are off limits too.

I've read American Gods, but haven't seen the show. I love Neil Gaiman though.
Vikings is one of my must watches, and Season 5 (at least) is free on Prime right now. You need to be ok with sex and gore though (albeit generally less than GoT, Spartacus). In a similar vein, there is Black Sails (but I don't know if that's on Prime).

If you have iPlayer, there is a Sons of Anarchy spin-off (Mayan's) which was decent enough.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 15/03/2019 11:23

Vikings is good (well, the first few series are, not fussed about the later ones), but it is really GoT-lite.

We plodded through all of American Gods but I really couldn't get to grips with it (I've read some Gaiman but not that). I think that Ian McShane is really better in cameo roles. I do love his resurgence though!

That's fair, although I do like the fact that a lot of it is real(ish). Ubber Lothbrokson, Hvitserk/Halfdan (may have been 1 or 2 people), and Ivar the Boneless (who may have been diabled, or conversely hypermobile/flexible lending him substantial1-2-1 combat skills) did lead the Great Heathen Army that took most of the UK except bits of Cumbria, Scotland, and Cornwall. Bjorn Ironside took a lot of Ireland, and Rollo took northern France (Normans were Norse-descendents, not Gauls or Franks).
All claimed kinship to a certain Ragnar Lothbrok; though there is scant other evidence for his existence.

Life in pieces
Sneaky Pete
Goliath but only the first series as the 2nd series was vile
Just watched Fleabag and loved that

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 18/03/2019 21:44

Omg, I just watched 3 episodes of Lie To Me back to back: it is excellent!

AcerTree · 18/03/2019 23:16

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross - I know! I binge watched all 3 seasons. Truly excellent!

EraOfTheGrey · 19/03/2019 00:01

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

American Gods

Patriot - Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet. I waiting for some spare time to binge watch the second season.

Spotless - It's on Netflix. This never gets mentioned either, perhaps I have bad taste.

The Last Man On Earth is sublime dark comedy.
