A Soothing Place to Visit This Weekend

Where can I go to this weekend, in the UK, which can be pampering?
Somewhere where I will be looked after, where I can sleep like a baby, and have a good rest?

Any suggestions?

How far could you travel, in distance or time? What part of the country are you in now?

Do you have a budget?

There must be lots of cosy country hotels around but we need to know more.

Will you be going by train or car?

I don't mind too much - can take car, train. As long as it's somewhere in England (I know I said UK before).

Budget...mid range. £80 per night, max?

Has anyone tried somewhere that has been very good, recently?
Maybe somewhere I can read a book and get out to a museum or art gallery if needed. Can be by the sea, or just nice setting.
