If you had choice between these what would you do?

Working Term time only,
2 x morning 7.30-9am
Every lunchtime 12-1
3x after school 3-6

Or

Working 12-1 everyday term time plus 2 shifts a week 6-11.30pm (everyone or weekend days will vary this will be all year round)

For the first time only job it would mean Dd would be in childcare in mornings and after school (childminder then School clubs when she starts reception in September

For second option no childcare involved

Option 2 for me. You'd never really be able to 'do' anything during the day with the first one plus a lot of childcare for probably not a lot of return

Acidrain · 13/03/2019 13:07

I would take the 2nd drop offs and pick ups everyday, and no childcare fee's.
Only thing would be do you have childcare for the school holidays?

Option 2

Option 2, but keep looking for school hours jobs, I managed to get 9.30-2.30, wasn't term time only but they were flexible so let me build hours for school hols. Family time is so important

Great currently I am a single parent to 4. 3 secondary age and one due to start reception this year, currently work in pub but have somehow ended up working six nights a week and it's just to much, I'm not seeing my kids and little one obviously lost all routine and not going to bed nicely for the older plus unfair to expect them to look after her so much.

Been offered a job just down the road at as a lunchtime helper 5 hours a week and also at another school as a breakfast/after school club

Obviously I need to work 16 hours minimum

The pub would happily keep me on so wondering about doing the lunchtime and just two shifts in pub one week night and other could be over weekend when children with dad

Option 2, the first sounds annoying

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/03/2019 14:35

Option 2. But who will have the children when you work the evening shift?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/03/2019 14:36

Sorry. I’ve just read your second post. Evening childcare sorted. Definitely go for option 2!

DN37 · 13/03/2019 14:43

Yes though I love the idea of all school holidays off, I would be losing out some drop off/pick ups with my own children not to mention paying out in childcare,

Childcare not s issue for option two she would be at school at one evening a week her much older sibling would have her and the other shift either a weekend day or night they would be with there dad

Due to working so many nights at present I've turned into a awful Mum, my sleep pattern is rubbish as by time I'm home and chilled out I'm not going to bed till stupid o'clock then I'm not getting up in morning to see older ones off and I'm shattered in the day and not getting stuff done, I'm so tried all the time I'm full of colesores which I always get when I'm run down
