GCSE Options

Hopefully others will be able to shed a bit of light. My youngest DD is picking her options and as ever the exact choices don't quite seem to fit in the schools choices. One column of choices in particular offers French, German, Health & Fitness, Citizenship, Performing Arts and Geography. She has discounted most of those and is leaning towards Citizenship but I don't know much about it. Anyone have a child who has taken this GCSE? How is it viewed. Best of a bad bunch really. She has no desire to take a language and sadly the teaching provision for this is quite poor. Any pointers gratefully received.

I hadn't heard of a GCSE in Citizenship before, as at my daughter's school (she is in GCSE years) they don't offer it. this was the online description, it sounds quite useful:
Students will gain knowledge of democracy, government and law, and develop the ability to create sustained, well balanced arguments. Communication skills are increasingly sought after by employers: our specification will enhance students’ writing and speaking styles.

I'm just parroting what other people have said to me, but they said if you can take a language, do.

Did they not stop Citizenship?
