Job search whinge

So I whinged happily on another thread about how crap it is applying for jobs.

Now it’s time for the whinge about how crap interviews are!

I didn’t get a job after a second interview today. I did everything right. They can’t give me any negative feedback, someone was just better. So I feel totally poo.

Anyone care to join me?

So frustrating isn’t it?

Over the past eight months I have been rejected at second stage for 4 jobs, at first stage from 6 jobs. It’s so tough the constant rejection, especially when the interviews have required significant preparation (presentations etc).

I hope the right thing comes along for you.

I’m also resentful how much knowledge I have about random companies for the “tell us what you know about us” question.
I must be the only person who’s been on some of those about us websites.

Bumping my own thread again because I was told I would hear “at the end of this week” by 3 jobs. By my thinking that should be today or tomorrow but they heard me say I like to under promise and over deliver so I’ll feel cheated if it’s monday.

Still applying for jobs because no guarentee of anything.

I sent a really cheeky application a month ago, I had 0 of the qualifications but I was really interested and have loads of transferable skills. I said as much in the cover letter and they asked me for interview! I’m hoping the MD has read and liked the cut of my gib and figured he can teach me the rest. Slightly worried they want a laugh however.

This is the point I always wonder if they take nuns who are married with kids. It’s a permanent job and accommodation.
