Late payment on Next account

So I have stupidly ended up missing a payment on my NEXT account and have paid it late. Does anyone know how much this effects credit score? I’ve had a perfect credit score now I’m worried I’ve messed it all up!

When i was late making a Next payment, i just called and let them know and they were really nice and didn't charge a late fee, not sure if it affects credit rating though.

I accidentally messed up last month and missed the payment date (first time in 8 years). They were super lovely about it, didn't change me interest or a late fee and no impact on my credit score.

I did it once and had an email saying payment overdue. I paid immediately. No effect on score or charges.

As luck would have it I’ve had precisely this discussion with next this week due to a cock up by the bank.

They don’t charge a late payment fee or notify credit file agencies until it’s two missed payments in a row.

Bloodyhell I'm always missing my Next payments - never looked at my credit score - it must be terrible!

I used to be late paying nearly every month at one point. My credit score when it came to applying for a mortgage was still good with no trace of late payments or anything!

Things like that wont affect your credit score. If you dont pay at all it will. DH went to see the bank manager with regards to our mortgage and DH is really pants about remembering to pay and the bank manager said he had a remarkable credit score 😂.

Dont lose sleep over it!

Sometimes if you pay late, but before the next bill is generated it doesn't actually get marked as a late payment on your credit file.

But even if it does, different lenders might not take much notice of a single blip - there is no such thing as a definitive 'credit score' all lenders assess your credit history using their own criteria.
