How long off school after an appendectomy?

Know this should probably be somewhere else but needing some replies! DS had an appendectomy via keyhole surgery ten days ago. He seems much better, in fact he's spending about 12 hours a day on the Xbox, and I'm being sworn at every time I ask him to come off it, for bed example 🙄 When can I send him back to school? He was having issues before this happened, some SEN, and I just don't think him being at home any longer will benefit him mentally.

I think my son went back earlier than that (he did recover very well though). He had his appendix out on Sunday night and I think he took the week off school but I wonder if he went back on Thursday or Friday?
