Emergency prohibited steps order - please help

ex has not seen DD for 4 months due to safeguarding concerns and drug use.

He has previously threatened to remove her from nursery. He did remove her from his mothers house a few months ago.

DDs nursery have just called to say they’ve received a call from an unknown woman asking if DD is in nursery today. When questioned she refused to give her name and hung up. I think it was probably ex’s partner.

I’m now massively worried that they are going to go and attempt to collect her and nursery have already said they can’t stop him as he has parental responsibility.

There are no court orders in place.

What are the chances of getting an emergency prohibited steps order in place today? I don’t have and cannot afford a solicitor

No idea sorry, but if I were you I'd go and get her now and not let her out of your sight until you had one in place.

Go get her now.

MrsMozartMkII · 12/03/2019 12:52

Get her now.

When you're back home start the process.

Did the nursery confirm that your dd was there?

Whippit · 12/03/2019 14:06

No. They asked why they were asking and who was calling. Caller hung up

Have you got her yet?

Will you be able to go to court today to apply for the order?

Whippit · 12/03/2019 14:16

Yep nearly there, stuck in horrendous traffic due to the weather.

Nearest family court is 50 mins away from her. I don’t know if it’s too late to go and get one today and I have to be in work tomorrow, I’m going to be in trouble for leaving today ffs

I could ask a friend to have her tomorrow so she’s not in nursery

I'd try to make the court today if you can get there before 4pm. Maybe call the court clerk and ask what the procedure is?

Whippit · 12/03/2019 16:30

I called them and they said I have to be there in person before 3pm

I’ll try and get there tomorrow
