What's your thermostat set at?

Incredibly boring but I can't decide if I'm being a bit tight or not... so what do you set your thermostat at?

Assuming no kids/babies around.

I'm at 18.5, maybe 19 if I'm feeling a bit excessive 😂

Ours is quite erratic. It's off until I get cold then up to 22 until I get too hot then down to 15. Generally off overnight unless I forget to turn it off then wake up too hot in the night.

polkadotspot · 12/03/2019 09:08

Mines at 21.5 in an evening, but I'm always cold Grin and have an open plan living, diner, kitchen so I guess I can use that as an excuse!

Miffymeow · 12/03/2019 09:15

21.5, sometimes up to 22.5, we like to feel toasty

18 for a couple of hours in rhe morning, 12 till about 4 (we're all out all day), 18 again till 10.30, 12 overnight. 16 for the daytime at weekends.

HolyForkingShirt · 12/03/2019 09:19

We don't use it, our heating is basically on until my partner gets too hot. I'd hazard a guess at 25 degrees! I like it like a sauna.

CutesyUserName · 12/03/2019 09:23

Home all day, so ours is set to 19.5 from 8.30am to 10.30pm.

Natsku · 12/03/2019 09:26

Don't have a thermostat but I keep the rooms around 22C usually

Natsku · 12/03/2019 09:27

Day and night, heating never goes off in winter

Knickersononeshead · 12/03/2019 09:28

Off unless it's feeling a bit nippy of an evening, then it goes to around 12/13 only needs around half hour then goes off as it gets so warm

Lungelady · 12/03/2019 09:29

Heating is only on 5 till 10pm...No higher than 21.

BibbityBobbityEars · 12/03/2019 09:29

18

TeddyIsaHe · 12/03/2019 09:31

Off! The joys of excellent insulation. I put the fire on downstairs if it’s a bit nippy in the morning, but we haven’t had the heating on since the end of January.

Gardai · 12/03/2019 09:32

It depends on what temperature you like OP, what’s going on in your body/health and how much money you can afford to spend.
If you feel the cold or if you don’t mind the cold.
I like being warm, about 21 and some people think 18.5 is pushing the boat out.
I’ve read on here about some people having it at 16 which I consider Baltic.
All individual choice.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 12/03/2019 09:35
  1. But we turn the heating off by about 9 in the evening and the house stays warm enough til bedtime.
Jackshouse · 12/03/2019 09:36

18/19 for an hour in the morning and an hour late afternoon. I’m at home with the toddler so will pop it on durring the day if I’m feeling chilly.

BiscuitDrama · 12/03/2019 09:38

20 during the day, 21 evening.

sadkoala · 12/03/2019 09:38

17.5/18 on all the time just switches itself on and off when temp goes up/down.

2cupsofcoffee · 12/03/2019 09:40

21 downstairs, 18 upstairs

PurpleLilies · 12/03/2019 09:45

I’m on maternity leave at the moment so home during the day. We keep the heating set to 21 degrees all day and evening, although I do still feel cold at that so I’m wearing a jumper constantly! It’s set to 17 degrees overnight.

SileneOliveira · 12/03/2019 09:46
  1. Overnight between 10pm and 7am it goes down to 13c, very rarely actually gets cold enough for the heating to click on overnight though.
YessicaHaircut · 12/03/2019 10:28

Off all day as we’re both out at work. When we get home we just turn the dial til it clicks on and it gets left for most of the evening - at the moment I think it’s probably 19 in the evenings. Usually gets turned off around 9pm and then we have hot water bottles in the bed if it’s a cold night.

DinaCaliente · 12/03/2019 10:47

Mines set to 21 but I have smart thermostats so I only heat the rooms we are using.

They are on different schedules.
We usually have the bedrooms on for an hour in the morning and then an hour before we go to bed, kitchen is on early evening and living room on later evening.

HollySwift · 12/03/2019 10:50

Mine is situated in a shit, warm part of the house 🙄 So it needs to be 21/22 or else the other end of the house is freezing!
