Child maintenance

I am just wondering if my babies dad doesn't bother with our son and is not in his life does he still have to pay child maintenance? i don't know whether to apply to the child maintenance service

Yes he does, and yes you can/should.

I'll warn you in advance there are many loopholes for the parents determined not to pay to use. Never had anything for DS1 bar a few weeks worth in 12 years.

BUT it's always worth trying.
