Method Cleaners

Switched to this to try it out and it feels like it really irritates my lungs and throat.

Struggle with scents, they tend to make my eyes burn, but not to this extent. It feels like it is stuck in my lungs. Anyone else had this?

No but they are strong smelling and I doubt particularly natural!

How about essential oils in vinegary water?

SlangBack · 11/03/2019 20:24

They are not natural at all. Just expensive, see through bottles with pretty colours.

They contain the same stuff as cat flea spot on from the vet that I use.

The only natural one is Ecover.

IceniSky · 11/03/2019 20:28

I don't really feel like this with Flash etc. Think Ill pass on.

What? I thought they were supposed to be all eco friendly??? Cat flea stuff???

EnidButton · 11/03/2019 20:46

They're strongly scented and honestly not very good at actually cleaning. I just spray a bit in the sink or wherever after cleaning with something that works, just to make it smell nice and to use it up. I won't be replacing it. Overrated tbh.

EnidButton · 11/03/2019 20:48

I've also tried the almond floor wash which made my floor matte and awful looking. And the shower spray which gave me a headache.

I do like their hand wash though.

JaneR0chester · 11/03/2019 20:49

Oh dear. I've been fooled then... back to cilit Bang after I use up this lavender bottle (it's not v good at cleaning kitchen grease).

Therewere5inthebed · 11/03/2019 21:12

I love the Rhubarb Antibacterial one, wasn’t keen on the lavender one but love the scent of the almond wooden floor cleaner but it works a treat on my kitchen tiles rather than the wooden floors.

IceniSky · 11/03/2019 21:24

It's the Rhubarb one I have.

I like the almond floor stuff. The spray cleaners are vile

Meet0nTheledge · 11/03/2019 21:40

I like the almond floor cleaner and the lavender spray but hated the rhubarb spray, I had to force myself to use it up. Would never buy it again. The laundry detergents are unpleasant and overpowering too IMO.

tryingtosortmylifeout · 11/03/2019 21:41

Personally I love them - the smells are so nice (particularly the rhubarb for surfaces and the almond floor cleaner) that they’ve actually made me enjoy cleaning again. They smell so much better than my Cif, but last about half the time as I use them so much more! I did read on another thread that they’ve recently been bought out by SC Johnson though, so they’re not the independent company they used to be anymore.

JulianDickGeorgeAndTimmy · 11/03/2019 21:44

I love them - much nicer than some of the others

Buscake · 11/03/2019 21:49

I love them too. House smells amazing after being cleaned - I find lots of other cleaning products make the house smell like a toilet 😷

Fluffyears · 11/03/2019 22:02

I really like them.

DrBuckles · 11/03/2019 22:07

I had the pomelo kitchen cleaner and it made me actually be sick on 2 occasions- weirdly I do like the smell, it just seems to have a really bad physical reaction for me, it was bizarre Confused

DrBuckles · 11/03/2019 22:07

Sorry- I used all kinds of tenses interchangeably there

LuckyMarmiteLover · 11/03/2019 22:12

I love the apple granite cleaner in the black container!

AlanThePig · 11/03/2019 22:51

I love them, I recently discovered the messages on the bases so spend ages in Tesco reading them 😳

tryingtosortmylifeout · 12/03/2019 08:54

Messages on the bases you say Alan? goes into kitchen to check all Method bottles

Gardai · 12/03/2019 09:39

I love the lavender cleaner, been using it since dd was small. I hate the smell of flash etc. I find it works brilliantly and smells fab. I also clean the inside of my car with it !
The clear shower cleaner one is good too, but it is quite vinegary so I make sure it doesn’t get in my eyes, but it cleans the glass well and I use it all round the house.
Not keen on the smell of the blue bathroom cleaner one.

CoperCabana · 12/03/2019 09:43

See I thought they were Eco friendly and had been buying the refills for the washing up liquid only to find the refill pouches aren’t recyclable.

I use Splosh. The floor cleaner has a lovely scent and all the products come in concentrate pouches which you water down. Once empty, the pouches can be returned to them for reprocessing.

whifflesqueak · 12/03/2019 09:43

I thought this thread was going to be about a cleaning technique. Like method acting.

Before I do the dishes, I must become the dishes.
