New level of CFery for you to have a good giggle at.

Hadn't had any trouble from our CF neighbours for a while, bliss.

Mrs CF came over to ask if they could build up a part of the back wall of their garden which overlooks our garden 'for a bit of privacy'.
I asked how high, concerned for my precious sunlight in the summer and she said 'oh only by about another foot'. I told her I would check with DH and get back to her.

Next day, gang of builders turns up, my DH is working away.
Builders have pulled down our entire garden wall and started building to replace it with one that is seven feet tall! Surrounding 3 out of 4 sides of our garden!

You need planning permission for anything over 6ft.

cloudymelonade · 11/03/2019 02:06

@tablelegs ohhhh yes you do, I didn't want to drip feed but we politely reminded them of this, along with a few other points and their builders are back tomorrow to knock it back down

So they should be.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 11/03/2019 08:02

Are they going to reinstate your wall?

CommunistLegoBloc · 11/03/2019 08:04

Why didn’t you put this in your OP then? Confused

notapizzaeater · 11/03/2019 08:25

Builders should have known that ! Serves her right

Ruru8thestars · 11/03/2019 08:34

That’s a hell of a dripfeed

sweetcheeksmahoaney · 11/03/2019 08:37
Confused
cloudymelonade · 11/03/2019 09:41

Wall is being reinstated to its original height, at their cost obviously.

Didn't really think a drip feed was a crime in this instance as I'm not looking for advice, just a good giggle at the CFery!

@notapizzaeater from what I can gather, the builders work for either Mr or Mrs CF's dad so I suspect the rules may have been skirted over...

But you said you didn’t want to drip feed. And then you did. Enormously. When the situation had already occurred and the information could have been put in the first post.

I really hate it when people want to hook in readers before they announce the denouement - see also secret rooms, locked safes etc.

Bufferingkisses · 11/03/2019 09:59

Goodness people are bonkers aren't they?!

Our neighbour (who is a builder) "just popped round" to let us know that it'd be a bit noisy as they were doing X work today. Weren't impressed when I politely responded they needed a party wall agreement for it and had to give minimum 2 months notice. Blustered about doing loads of them and not needed a PWA by which I'm guessing he meant he'd always managed to blag neighbours before Hmm
