What is your 12 year old boy reading

My Ds’s reading age is assessed as age 16. I am looking for books for his birthday .

I have just ordered animal farm .

He is a real bookworm but would love to stretch him from his old favourites.

My almost 12 year old has a similar reading age and enjoyed War of the Worlds and Lord of the Flies. He’s also just read the first two books in a trilogy - the first is called Scythe and the second is Thunderhead. They’re pretty dark, so take a look at the synopsis! They’ve been his current favourite books.

Another favourite has been Renegades by Marissa Meyer - also very dark, dystopian future-type book. I think there’s a sequel to that too.
