Game of Thrones tours - anyone done them?

DH has a big birthday approaching and I'm considering booking a few days in Belfast to do one or both of the Game of Thrones coach tours as his present. Has anyone done them? Would you recommend? Does one stand out as better or should we do both? They seem to have good reviews but figured it was worth asking the good people of MN as well!

www.gameofthronestours.com/from-belfast-2/? It's these ones I'm looking at.

Probably a very stupid question but I do get a little travel sick over long bumpy/hilly distances, would I struggle or is it fairly flat? How long is the longest single coach trip during a tour? Once I'm off and getting air I'll be fine! Blush

We didn't do the GOT tour, but the drive up to the Giants Causeway was littered with stuff, and I found it quite easy going.

Belfast people we're really friendly, and really proud of their city!

Would definitely want to see the Giants Causeway while we were there! I'm very tempted to just grit my teeth, stock up on travel sickness pills and bear it.

Yes! Went with dh for his 40th.

I used McCombs, they were excellent.

Looking at your link the one we did was like the coastal one - you get the GoT connection as well as visiting a stunning part of the world.

We did the GoT tour and it included Giants Causeway. It was a brilliant day - we had great fun!

HK20 · 09/03/2019 10:26

It was the Iron Islands tour we did, I believe the other is a walking tour.
I booked it through buyagift.com (I think) - was either £79/£99 for us both

Sorry for the 3 responses... but I was worried about travel sickness too... it is a bit bumpy but you get distracted by the fantastic sights so the journey between stops flies by!

We are off to the exhibition in Belfast....its there from mid April

We recently did the Winterfell Trek with the Game of Thrones tour company. Have to say, we really enjoyed it! All the guides are extras on GoT so they all have behind the scenes stories and a real passion for the series.

The trek tour has two 3km treks and the Tollymore forest has a few steep parts so prepare yourself! 😅 We didn't do the other tour, but the Giant's Causeway is well worth a visit.

I don't remember the roads being particularly bad but the longest drive for us was from the last location back into Belfast, that was almost an hour iirc. I'd stock up on the anti-sickness medication, just to be safe.

Just to add, this is the tour we went with: www.gameofthronestours.com/belfast-winterfell/

Just to add - we saw the GoT tapestry at the Ulster Museum and loved it.

Just marking my place here. Myself & ds & my friend are driving up to stay at the Giants causeway for a few days in June (I’m in the republic) and we cannot wait. We may do a GOT tour also. My friend has been twice before & loves the area.

Thanks all, some more options to look at! @HK20 that's reassuring about the travel sickness, thank you! Smile

Just looking at the exhibition now, we could fit that in as well, thanks for bringing it to my attention @lungelady
