How do you want your hair blow dried?

Had a cut and blow dry yesterday. The hair dresser asked how I wanted it blow dried so I said straight because my hair is straight. But what are the other options? My hair is about 4 inches below the top of my shoulder if this makes a difference!

I should probably know the answer to this by 36 years of age but I don't want to look stupid by asking the hair dresser.

Curly blow drys are amazing. Very glamorous

I always say straight with volume ( as opposed to a sleek look)

Wavy. Curled with the straighteners.

You could say "what do you suggest?" Which might give you something different without you having to admit to ignorance of the options.

Ooh I like that idea @SoupDragon

Just to reassure you, I also have no idea what the different options are!

I go for a big & bouncy blow dry. It does look abut OTT initially but my hair is very heavy & drops quickly but within a few hours looks lovely and wavy with a swish IYKWIM Grin

This made me laugh cos the hair dresser used to ask me this and I didn't know what the options were so just used to say straight too.

I always let the stylist have a free reign on the blow dry. I like to gather ideas!

If you think the cut isnt perfect, straight, because it makes it easier to even up.
If you think it's a good cut, I go with a version like Soup's

amusedbush · 08/03/2019 11:15

I always go with straight because the only time I've asked for something different she tried to even up the cut with a curl in my hair and utterly butchered it, which I didn't notice until I washed and styled it myself a few days later.

That's the one and only time I've ever complained about a haircut and even the salon director was at a loss as to how it could be fixed short of shaving my head Angry
