“Exotic” holiday on the cheap?

We usually go to Europe: France, Holland, Spain, Italy, Germany. Mostly it’s so we can drive as there’s 6 of us and airfares add up. We’ve a slightly bigger budget this year and would love to go somewhere that feels more exotic, but can’t stretch to over £400pp on flights (I tend to book separately for travel and accommodation as it’s much cheaper). I’ve no idea where to go though! Can anyone give me a starting point? I’m thinking hot, possibly with wildlife, scenery, maybe a beach, activities.... it’s getting late to book. Where have you really enjoyed?

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I’ll check them later as I’m in work but keep them coming!

I think that Morocco is probably the cheapest exotic location. It is lovely, too.

I would just do Skyskanner and search for ‘everywhere’ from your local airports. You should get an idea of what’s available. You can even search for the whole month too.

Also to echo that the US is not cheap - I’m here at the moment and a loaf of bread is anywhere between $3-6 and a bog standard burger in places is around $20. The £ isn’t great still so it’s not cheap at all.

Try Travel zoo on the Web. Not used them myself but friend had had a couple of really cheap deals.

Those saying Cape Verde- are there direct flights? Where from/ to? It looks amazing but I’m struggling to find flights.
Or does anyone have other ideas?

I cane to recommend Morocco too. We’ve got a week AI at Christmas for £600 each in a 4 star hotel. We briefly visited a few years ago and can’t wsit to go back.
