Bat Mitzvah etiquette

I’ve been invited to a Bat Mitzvah for an adult not a teenager.
I’ve never been to one before and I was wondering what the etiquette with what to wear/gifts was?

I know it’s at a liberal synagogue so I’m assuming that it won’t be super orthodox but I might be wrong.
I feel very ignorant to know so little Blush

If it's liberal then you can wear a
Pretty.much anything. Think smart casual, so a day dress and tights or any non-jean trousers. If you're a married woman it's traditional to wear a hat or some sort of token hair covering although I would think most liberal service- goers wouldn't bother. Men will usually wear a kippah and the synagogue will have spares ready to lend out if necessary.

Gifts - when it's a teen bat mitzvah usually money (£50 or so) in a card will do, not really sure about the adult ones. I would perhaps pick a Jewish or hobby book, maybe a Jewish cookbook, or something that links to their interests - fashion? Gardening?

Hope that helps let me know if you need more insight/have questions.

Thanks lady

I had no idea about the hat thing so I will double check that with her!
