And I failed by one question! 42/50 and I needed 43!!! How annoying! 😩 Will try again next month. I really had a good feeling about it. Today thinking I would pass I even got put on the number 9 computer ( my lucky number!) oh well.... How many times did it take everyone to pass there car theory? And also it sucks they don't show You What you got wrong so you can't learn!

I passed with 47 first try. I practised those mock tests + hazard perception every night until I wanted to throw the laptop off the wall.

Back to those mock tests and just cram. Good luck.

Hairyporker · 07/03/2019 15:47

Never heard of anyone failing it tbh.

Nowthenforever2019 · 07/03/2019 15:48

They do give you an indication of what bit you failed, if I remember correctly. So not the actual question but that it was a question on road signs, or something like that.

It is a pain to fail as it's costly but if you were that close you should be fine. I've had to take it twice as I stopped learning to drive and my first cerificate expired.

I nearly failed the 2nd time as I pressed the mouse to vigorously during the video clips and it told me that response was invalid.

Nowthenforever2019 · 07/03/2019 15:49

My brother in law failed it. He was too confident, didn't revise and wasted his fee essentially. He revised after that.

Cherrybomball · 07/03/2019 16:17

Well you have now hairy porker! Yeah I will. Keep revising and try again
It did tell me what area I failed the question it but not the actual questions. Oh well I won't let it put me off

VeniVidiViciTwice · 07/03/2019 16:22

I passed theory first time but failed my practical twice (with 1 serious and 3 minors, and then 2 serious and 3 minors!) and then forgot I had booked my third test...

You only missed by one, I'm sure you will get it next time!

PivotPivotPivottt · 07/03/2019 16:23

I got 50/50 but I only just passed the hazard perception by the skin of my teeth and I'm shit at driving!!

Have you got the official DVSA theory app on your phone? That's what I used and done the mock tests as much as I could.

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/03/2019 16:28

Didn't exist in my day. Both DSs passed first time. You don't need to study the highway code, just keep repeating the mock tests until you know the answers. Friends DD sat it 5 times.

Cherrybomball · 07/03/2019 16:32

Veni I can imagine it will take me few goes on my practical, I was nervous today for the theory. I will be a wreak when I finally do my driving test!
Well done pivot I would be over theoon if a got 50/50 yeah I have the proper app on my phone have been constantly doing mock test on there, it annoying I keep remembering questions and know I did it wrong, like I said for a toucan crossing I said it had Amber flashing lights! I know that really it's for bikes and pedestrians! If only I got that question sigh

aintnothinbutagstring · 07/03/2019 16:32

I passed first time but did get a big fat cross on two hazard perception clips for clicking too many times. Don't worry, once you've passed everything and driving, you won't care. One of my colleagues did have to do the theory I think three times (or more perhaps), but she passed her practical first time.

Cherrybomball · 07/03/2019 16:37

Wax I wish it still didn't exist!
Yeah mocks tests all the way, hope to rebook in April so got plenty of cramming time!
Anitnothing I did get scared I would get two click Happy but I got 57 in my hazard test so I was happy with that, and I defiantly over clicked in place just to make sure as on my practice test I always clicked to early lol

I failed twice, first time was my own fault, second time I was developing sepsis and felt like shite so I'm not too down on myself.

Passed third time, and passed practical first time too, which I entirely didn't expect because I'm a ball of anxiety at the best of times.
Rescue remedy drops and lozenges help, a lot! (Could just be the psychological bit, but they worked for me)

TinselAndKnickers · 07/03/2019 16:44

Never heard of anyone failing it tbh.

Helpful 🙄 lots of people fail it. Don't worry OP, just cram and do a million more practice tests every time you watch TV or take a bath or have a poo or wait for the microwave to ping or absolutely anything Grin

Heratnumber7 · 07/03/2019 16:52

I'm convinced they "make" people fail - it's an income generating thing

ALemonyPea · 07/03/2019 16:53

I passed my theory test first time, took 4 attempts on my practical though. DH took 7 attempts (dyslexic) but passed his practical first time.

Don't be disheartened, you'll get it.

adaline · 07/03/2019 16:56

I failed my theory first time too - and second! Passed third time and passed my practical third time too!

Nobody really cares how many goes it took - we all end up with the same license in the end!

adaline · 07/03/2019 16:56

Meant to say passed my practical first time.

Lottapianos · 07/03/2019 16:57

Ignore the 'helpful' comment OP. I failed it first time, and I know people who failed more than once. You got a really good score though so be proud of that.

Cherrybomball · 07/03/2019 16:59

Aww thanks For The kind words everyone I will carry on and keep Revising, apart from tonight I'm having a night off revising I'm fed up of looking at road signs and stopping distances, I also did say today they must make so much money at £25 pop, crafty council

This is v. Outing but I failed 4x. For no other reason than I was over thinking it. Alot of time changing right answer my gut instinct for a wrong one. When I finally passed it was because I had woken up with a stomach bug. I was going to cancel it. But being a cheapskate I went for it. Feeling so sick and nervous id be sick in the room. I rushed through the test in ten mins. And passed. Id been so keen to get out id rushed through it. Going with my gut instinct for each question. No time to question my self or over think it.

So my advise is dont over think it. Go with your gut instinct and try relax.

Youll do it next time. And if not no shame in keeping going and going until you get it.

I passed my practical 1st time too at 38wks pregnant and very uncomfy.

Think people are either practical or theroretical types. Im deffiantly the later.

PivotPivotPivottt · 07/03/2019 17:18

Don't beat yourself up, if I had to do a theory test now I'd probably fail it there's no way of be able to remember half the stuff.

Like I say I only got 49 in the hazard perception and am really struggling with the driving my brain just can't process it.

Most people I've spoke to always say the theory was the hard part in a "well done, that's the hard part done" way. Not for me Blush been learning almost a year!

PivotPivotPivottt · 07/03/2019 17:19

Think people are either practical or theroretical types. Im deffiantly the later.

This is what I meant by my last paragraph, I agree with this.
