Nc with mil and sil and family funeral tomorrow

Any advice pls attending dh’s Nan funeral tomorrow. Nc with mil for 2 years after she blamed me for Dh falling out with his sister wider family recognise that his dsis’ behaviour was the cause of their falling out.
After mil shouted at me during pregnancy and refused to speak to me on wedding day and ignored my seriously ill son I went nc.
Anyway... family funeral tomo I want to pay my respects as dh’s nan (his fathers mother btw) was a lovely lady. I’m thinking sitting at the back getting there late leaving early and shutting down any attempts of mil or sil trying to cause trouble I will grey rock or just say ‘this is not the time’ etc.
Any other practical tips pls

Is your DH also NC with his mother?

I would say people are generally on their best behaviour at funerals so even if you do have to talk to her briefly it should not be too bad.

Keep your dignity. Sitting quietly away from them is best. Wait for them to sit down and then place yourself according. Arrive at the latest point you respectfully can too.
If they start anything untoward just slowly and quietly walk away.

Not tomorrow, but try to repair the family relationships? It sounds like you've just had a falling out, pity you've taken it to NC! Oh, England!

Sounds like more than a falling out. Sounds like op cut contact to protect her children. Interesting that you say 'you cut contact' therefore blaming the op when actually her behaviour was a reasoned and sensible response to the mil's behaviour.

How does your DH fit in all this? Is he NC?

DitzyPrints · 07/03/2019 07:56

Thank you for the responses.
Dh still sees his mother lot less than before he is slowly starting to see her for what she is. Fog playing a massive part in this.

Just go. Let your DH do the mingling and you can sit back unobtrusively and quietly.

Thank you that’s my plan 🤞hope it goes ok
