Make up for wedding

How did you have your make up for your wedding? Did you do it yourself or have a make up artist?

I had a make up artist. Two ladies came and one did my hair whilst the other did my make up. She used really good products and it meant o could relax. I also had a lesson at MAC (£50 redeemable) against products to ensure if any disasters happened I pile do the best job myself.

I had a makeup artist do mine but only because she's my friend and it was her gift to me. I just went for a very natural look

I went quite autumnal but it was not ott. I did get married in October and am very dark haired. Had a makeup artist because it would have cost me the same for the makeup, and I'm shit at being a girl.

My MOH was a hairdresser and make up artist so she did all of it for my wedding present.

If you do it yourself just be sure to use products without spf as it can cause flashback from the camera flash. The last thing you want when you get your wedding photos back is a ghostly white face in them all.

My cousin is not a make up artist but she's brilliant with make up so she did mines on the day we spent ages getting samples from debenhams and John Lewis to trial what look /product I should buy.. End result was free plus it was as though a pro had done it and all the make up I spent money on I still have!

I had a hairdresser who I found on FB and she only charged me 30£

I dd my own. I wear very little makeup and wanted to look like me.

mintich · 06/03/2019 21:19

I've had a trial but I'm good with make up and kept thinking, I could do this myself! Although I feel like having a make up artist will take the stress off me on the day!,

I did my own. I love makeup and had a Bobbi Brown tutorial just to cover makeup for photography. I did have a makeup trial with a professional but hated it. I am really happy now with the photos and everyone on the day thought I had gone to a professional. It was just lots of you tube tutorials and practice

I went to the make up stands in House of Fraser and the Chanel lady offered to do my make up as a demo...I loved it and bought more or less everything, and did it myself on the day. I wasn’t one for wearing much make up, so it was easy to do.

We had booked a make up artist but when she came for the practice it looked so awful I cried, and we said no thanks.

I did my own. I visited a Bobbi Brown counter and bought a lightweight foundation, eyeliner and eyebrow powder. I used my own mascara.

I felt like a groomed shinier 'me', but then I never wear much make up. Looks fine in the photos.

Maybe visit a counter, chat and try yourself in advance? I personally couldn't imagine anything worse than heavy make up on me on this day, worrying about it sliding, etc, and also if it wasn't what you expected on the morning of your wedding?

Anyway, have a wonderful day!
