Planning DD's party. Do you expect parents to notify you of dietary (health or religious) requirements? Do you ask?
I've just remembered that one of the boys speaks some Hebrew because his dad speaks it, although speaks mainly German to him. Mum is local, met her a few times, never spoken about religion (she's a scientist so assume she's not!) so have no idea if the are religious or if children are being brought up religious.
Can I serve jelly and ice cream?

I always told parents that my son was lactose intolerant. I always offered to bring our own food if it was a problem.

on the invitation somewhere.

Most parents will tell you, but they'll always be someone who thinks you should be psychic.
