Pain Under Rib

Just posting here for traffic.

A few months ago I had a horrible feeling under my right rib, almost like something was there and when it was really bad it just reminded me of being massively pregnant (that really full, can't quite breath feeling). I also couldn't eat a lot and was feeling quite dizzy frequently. Anyway I had a scan and was diagnosed with Gallstones (2 of them) and booked in for op to remove gallbladder. I thought it was a bit strange as my symptoms didn't quite match up with what I had read, I had no "attacks" of pain, no vomiting etc but the consultant insisted it was my gallbladder. So now I'm 3 days post op and while I don't have much pain from the incisions the weird feeling under my rib is back along with not being able to eat, feeling full and the dizziness. I could actually cry because I feel like I've had my gallbladder removed and I didn't need to.

During the ultrasound they found a cyst on my right kidney but said that cysts generally don't cause trouble and they would leave it. I'm now wondering if my problems could be due to the cyst and not the gallbladder?

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm slowly going crazy here and feel like crap!

Woah lady! You are three days post abdominal surgery - dont panic! When they do your op they literally blow up your adomen with air (or co2 or suchlike). That can take a while to settle down and will cause discomfort fucking agony

Give it time, it will settle. Im ten years post op and i get the occasional twinge if i eat a fatty meal or fizzy drinks. But generally have no problems.

If you are concerned see your dr but i imagine you'll be grand.

I know I know!! I'm just having a panic because everyone told me how much better I would feel once it was out and I still feel exactly the same, I know I need to give it time to settle down though. The cyst is stressing me out but I guess if they are happy to leave it then I must be ok 🤷‍♀️ I've got a follow up in 10 days so I'm really hoping things would have settled down by then.

Thanks for talking sense!!
