What's in your handbag?

I'm in the market for a new handbag. I love the look of the bigger hobo style bag but I don't seem to carry much around with me these days as my kids are older. Don't need to take any work stuff with me either so I don't really need the space, I just like the look of them.

So, what's in your everyday handbag?

My bag is a tip! Let's have a look...
Dubious looking tissues
Lip balm
Folded up carrier bag
A pencil sharpener
Pecs cards
A Sharpie
3 black pens
Headphones
Various bits of scrap paper with notes scribbled on
A moam sweet
2 pence
A plaster
A plastic potato
A pen drive

Think I need to clean out my bag
(My keys and phone live in my coat pocket)

origamiunicorn · 06/03/2019 22:37

Right now...

Wallet
Keys
Phone
Mini toiletries bag (lip balm/concealer/scissors/tablets/hair bobbles/Kirby grips/tissues/compact mirror etc)
Notebook
Pen
Work passEs
Work locker keys
Umbrella
Sunglasses
Reusable water bottle
Reusable coffee cup
Hand sanitiser
Hand cream
Battery pack
Phone charger
Headphones
Chewing gum
Mini perfume
Muesli bar

I’ve never been a small handbag person. Need to offload some of this to my work locker 😂

I popped into town once with nothing but my phone once and Android Pay, it was so freeing, don’t know why I don’t that more often!

Purse, comb, invisibobble, phone, lip balm, lipstick, small bottle of water and a tissue.

Then in the car there's a canvas tote bag with, hand wipes, phone charger, umbrella or sunglasses depending on the weather, hand gel, bottle of water, ibuprofen, snack bar and a small make up bag.

In the make up bag, lip gloss, powder, small powder brush, blusher, tiny blending sponge, concealer and mascara.

All of you with makeup bags are blowing my mind!! Do you put your normal one in your bag after doing your face in the morning, or is it a duplicate bag for touchups?

2 nappies
Wet wipes
calpol
Baby neck scarf
Toy

Small umbrella
Keys
Cards holder ( I hardly carry cash)
Concealer
Hand sanitizer
Phone

Basically all in a nappy backpack

Ninkaninus · 07/03/2019 08:36

At the moment I am in a small bag phase.

Purse
Small purse holding two sets of keys
Phone
Lip balm x 2
Breath freshener spray
Sunglasses

I don’t have small children any longer, so there is no child-related paraphernalia to lug around.

Ninkaninus · 07/03/2019 08:48

I carry my make up bag and a whole lot of other crap to work and back in a second work tote, day to day. I’m off this week though so no need for that.

My work bag would have at least these things and probably a fair few more that I can’t remember:

Make up bag
Make up wipes
Perfume
Compact mirror
Small purse with tampons
Lip balms x 5 or 6
Brush
Second pair of sunglasses
A diary and pen
One or two books
Scarf/hat

On make up question:

I have a fair bit of make up, so my make up bag for work is just a small selection which makes up my basic day-to-day look. I change the items out here and there as the seasons change or as I want different looks. I do my make up in the morning and bring the bag along for touch ups, so they are not duplicate items.

Oh, I also always carry a packet of tissues, a mirror, my car keys and my work fob in my actual handbag.

Allgood I put make up bits in the separate little bag after using it in the morning. Don't keep my make up in a bag in the house.

Purplecatshopaholic · 07/03/2019 09:37

I always have an umbrella and sunglasses - I live in Scotland and you just never know!

ginghamtablecloths · 07/03/2019 11:00

Keys go in pockets if possible.

In bag there's purse, mobile, cheque book, pen, pencil, diary, tissues, small plastic case of dried-up wet wipes, local A-Z street map, spare batteries for hearing aids, cough sweets. mini shoe horn, small nail-clippers (from a Christmas cracker), driving licence, photocopy of motor insurance certificate, appointment card for hospital. Small fold-up shopping bag on strap. All in various compartments.
It's a medium sized bag which packs a punch!

PhilomenaButterfly · 07/03/2019 11:05

I don't have a handbag, but I do carry around a tote bag filled with baby wipes, tissues and when I pick DS2 up, Bear, juice and a snack.🐻🍗

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 07/03/2019 16:20

Keys, purse, phone, phone charger, wireless headphones, wired earbuds (for work), work notebook and pens, mints, tissues, little makeup bag containing powder, concealer and brush, comb, stretchy sensory toy, a Sylvanian hedgehog, a six-month-old copy of the London Review of Books (unread) and my Kindle. And that’s only the legitimate stuff - I dread to think what else is in there.

BettyBigBollocks · 07/03/2019 16:36

Don’t do it, the bigger the bag, the more shit you’ll carry around! I have to have a large bag for work but end up using it on weekends etc too. I have:

Keys x 2
Purse
Makeup bag
Child’s red book
Pencil case
Mints
Deodorant
Diary x 2
Phone charger
My work badge/lanyard/ID
A nappy
Socks
18203927293038373 receipts.

MrsJBaptiste · 07/03/2019 16:44

A big bag would be wasted in me. All I carry in my handbag is my purse, phone, tissues & reading glasses.
