I think I’m around 6 and a half weeks pregnant, I have now had 4 faint positive pregnancy tests done by both myself and hospital staff. I had an early scan and my uterus was blocked by my bowel so I had to have an internal scan but my uterus appeared empty. No sac or anything, I was referred to the hospital and had bloods to measure my hcg, I was told that anything under 1000 wouldn’t show up. My levels came back at 1350 (bloods taken on day of internal scan), this was on the Friday and I had repeat bloods on the Sunday which came back at 1920. I was told the HCG levels should have doubled and they obviously haven’t. I’m worried it could be ectopic which has been mentioned. Its now Monday and I’m booked for another scan on Wednesday, the hospital told me to phone if I had one sided pain and/ or bleeding, I have since had both so phoned them and they told me to monitor and call back if it got worse. It got worse so I phoned them back and they told me to phone back if it got worse and to monitor (again) what has confused me more is that one of the people I spoke to said that they hadn’t doubled as they should have done and another nurse told me that they have ‘risen nicely’ when I told her I thought they should have doubled, she told me that they start to slow down as you get further along, so why is my uterus empty and where is the pregnancy?! Am I being over dramatic? I feel like I know my body and something is wrong but If it is ectopic, I’m scared it’s going to get to the point of emergency. I don’t feel like I’m being taken seriously and the staff make me feel like I’m making a big deal out of nothing but I’ve been told different things by different people and it’s not adding up. I do apologise for the rambling post, I’m just worked up and don’t know where to go for advice! Thanks I’m advance and congratulations for making it to the end of my post!! X
