Wtf? Can anyone explain this?

Dropped a crochet needle this morning in the living room. It landed on a wood floor, no rugs or anywhere it could get caught. I looked for it but couldn't find it anywhere. Left for uni figuring I'd find it when I came back.

Forgot about it really until I nipped into the bedroom. Sat on the bed while I was getting dry (shower) and the bloody thing is in the bed. (Bed was made just like I'd left it.)

No one has been in the house. My parents and sister have keys but neither has been in. (I know that 100%) I have a cat and a dog but neither have access to the living room during the day. I left the house after dropping it and the first time I went in the bedroom was after a shower.

I am totally, utterly baffled. It sounds so unbelievable but I swear it's true. Pixies? Magic? I'm kinda creeped out too!

Caught in your clothes or your hair.. Easy.Smile

HollowTalk · 04/03/2019 18:28

Were you wearing thick socks?

Ancailinalainn · 04/03/2019 18:29

It slipped through a portal to another dimension but because of the earth’s rotation it didn’t quite come back to the same point as it departed from. Happens to pens a lot.
Teaspoons can’t come back at all.

Ooh interesting, crochet hooks are bastards for vanishing the moment they leave your fingers.

Are you sure you didn't nip into the bedroom before you left for uni? We're you wearing anything it could have caught on like a knitted jumper? Pyjamas with turn ups? Smile

QuestionableMouse · 04/03/2019 19:06

All of my clothes stayed in the bathroom, and the towels were already in there.

I definitely didn't go back into the bedroom, I dropped it and (after a brief search) headed out to the car. I was going to take it with me to do.

Neither can all the nail scissors I buy, nor socks.

Bowchicawowow · 04/03/2019 19:54

Something very similar happened to me. It was very odd.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 04/03/2019 19:57

You have mice?

binkyblinky · 04/03/2019 19:58

Crochet hooks are magical items. They will turn up when you least expect them to xx

Did you hear it land on the floor?

Troels · 04/03/2019 20:04

If your hair is like mine, you could have walked around with it in your hair all day and not known.
That bloody portal to another dimension has all sorts of stuff of mine. I'm still bitter about my lovely red handled brabantia kitchen scissors.

AlphaSigma · 04/03/2019 20:16

Borrowers?

Kismetjayn · 04/03/2019 20:18

Glitch in the matrix.

flumpybear · 04/03/2019 20:18

Rolled between the skirting board and floor?

ImTakingTheEssence · 04/03/2019 20:20

Yep ive had similar last night dd took a snowman teddy up to bed with her, I remember handing it to her. Then this morning im awake before her and the snowman is sitting in the living room in the chair. Freaked me right out. Confused

Njordsgrrrl · 04/03/2019 20:23

I bought a crochet on Saturday and it vanished as well! Reappeared this morning on the dresser plain as day Confused

Hope you solve the mystery O.P.

QuestionableMouse · 04/03/2019 20:28

Yep, I hear it hit the floor. Hair is thick but shortish (shoulder length) it was under the quilt!

Fuck that!

Sleep with it under your pillow tonight!

theclockticksslowly · 04/03/2019 20:36

Definitely the same needle?

QuestionableMouse · 04/03/2019 20:42

Yeah, I only have one and it has nail polish on it (to mark the size, it belonged to my late Auntie who had loads of different sizes)

I've walked around all day with nail scissors, pencils and random wildlife caught in my hair and not known.

That space portal thing, though - it has my forks. I know it has.

QuestionableMouse · 05/03/2019 10:14

I really don't think it was in my hair. It had been in a pony tail all day and that still doesn't explain how it got under the quilt. (I sat on the bed and it poked me in the thigh.)

Omg, something weird happened to me too. Last night I left the front door at about 8pm and remember a few minutes later going through the entrance to The Rose & Crown, then this morning I woke up in my bed at 6am. I can’t account for the gap in between times or how I managed to get from The Rose & Crown to my bed.

ARandomPoster · 05/03/2019 11:01

I lost some jewelry in a hotel room on the other side of the country once. It turned up, at home, in a case I hadn't taken with me 2 years later. I've never been able to explain that one.

danni0509 · 05/03/2019 14:28

@Al2O3 what did you drink? Any chance you were spiked?
