Posting in Chat for traffic. Started to cough last Sunday night, was sick Monday morning, blinding headache, temperature (but no cold) until Thursday when I staggered to Doctor's. He reckoned a virus and said I'd be back to normal in 48 hours. I am clearly not. I do feel marginally better but am still bastard coughing - constantly - and now have a rash (itchy, obvs) over my torso. And am also still bed-bound and launching into my second week off work. Has anyone else had same and when might I expect it to lift? Also, could the cough possibly be bacterial i.e. need antibiotics? It's hacking with occasional 'movement'. Everything is exhausting to the point where I can't face revisiting my GP (also am not sure what the point would be if it really is a virus). Without wishing this misery on anyone else, would be good to hear if this is a strange virus going around and it's simply a case of toughing it out.
