What is the correct way for me to deal with this? Try my best to wash it out as best I can in the shower first, or try and get it out a bit with antibac wipes, should I go and tell the staff straight away or am I not expected to...? DD is 8 months old, I dunno what the etiquette is but I don't want to take the piss out of the housekeepers. It's not loads, only a small patch but also not only like a tiny blob mark that you wouldn't really notice, it's clearly noticeable.

It’s no big issue, contact housekeeping and they will change it.

Doyoumind · 04/03/2019 16:43

They have to wash the sheets anyway. I am sure the sheets get a lot of various bodily deposits on them on a regular basis.

EmmaGellerGreen · 04/03/2019 16:44

Just ring housekeeping or reception and let them know. They will deal with it and provide fresh linens.

Just ring reception and ask for replacement. They deal with this and similar all the time.

Horrordoeurvres · 04/03/2019 16:47

I work in a hotel - please just call reception and explain what's happened and ask for fresh sheets, it's really not that big of a deal I promise you, working in a hotel they've dealt with a lot worse :)

BoglingToAswad · 04/03/2019 16:48

Trust me they will have seen worse!

Just ask reception for the sheet to be changed. If you want to be particularly helpful you could put it in a plastic bag so they don't have to touch it, but it doesn't sound like it's bad enough to warrant even that.

I’ve just come back from holiday with a 3 month old and 3 year old. 3 month old had breach nappy on the bed and 3 year old puked unexpectedly on successive nights on both the floor and bed Blush. Housekeeping were really nice and helpful. Think it’s pretty common with kids.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/03/2019 17:14

Call housekeeping.
I used to work in a hotel, they've seen worse, and they don't do the laundry themselves anyway.
Honestly, they won't care.

Claphands · 04/03/2019 17:15

Honestly, just ask them to change-my baby puked all over herself and housekeeping kindly washed her clothes for me (officially no laundry facility at the hotel)

greenelephantscarf · 04/03/2019 17:16

that's what housekeeping is for.
just call reception.
they have had that (and 1000x worse) lots of times.

AloneLonelyLoner · 04/03/2019 17:23

They won't care. I've done worse. Nudge nudge wink wink.

troppibambini · 04/03/2019 17:24

Just call down.
I was on holiday in Turkey last year and ds pooed the bed, I've no idea to this day why but it was everywhere.
I had to shower him off and wrapped the sheets in a a ball and put them in the balcony in the morning I found a bin bag on the cleaning trolley that was in the hall way and bagged it up.
I found the cleaner and profusely apologise the best I could and showed her what I'd done and left her a decent tip.
She was so sweet but I still felt awful!

listsandbudgets · 04/03/2019 18:31

DS did a huge wee all over a hotel bed when he was 3. We very apologetically called house keeping at 10pm The staff couldn't have been kinder - they even took his wet pyjamas with them.. I did even realise until they turned up clean and folded on the bed the next evening Blush

Remember the staff have families too, they'll understand
